There are 3 LEDs in vertical position on the left of the lower display.
At the upper LED power-up, it indicates the dosage status in progress.
At central LED power-up, it indicates the stable weight.
At lower LED power-up, it indicates the automatic function.
The digit down left of the upper display indicates: the segment on the
top if weight is under minimum weighing, the one at the bottom, that
the exact "zero centre" condition has been reached.

5.1.1. TIMING BETWEEN PRODUCTS
The Time between products parameter is for each product and allows
entering a hold time between the introduction of a product and the beginning
of the following. The unit of measure is the tenth of a second.

The parameters Zero control – Maximum alarm – Time between cycles –

Unloading extended time are individual and related to the dosage cycle.
5.2.1. ZERO CONTROL
The value entered in this parameter enters a range of weight within which the
scale is considered empty. At the beginning of dosage, the weight within the
zero control allows starting whereas at unloading, it allows deactivation (except
the “unloading extended time”) of the unloading output.
Assign the full-scale value to the parameter "dosages at unloading".

5.2.2. MAXIMUM WEIGHT ALARM THRESHOLD
This parameters is a maximum safety threshold that indicates an alarm

condition if exceeded, which allows disabling all the outputs (except alarm
output).

PES MASS displays the maximum weight value set. The datum displayed can be kept,
cancelled or changed by the numerical keyboard.
5.2.3. TIME BETWEEN CYCLES
The time between cycles is a pause that can be entered between the end of a
cycle and the beginning of the following, in case of automatic repetition of the
cycles. The unit of measure of this parameter is the tenth of a second.
The automatic cycles function is active when any time value is set. With value
0, the function is not active and only individual dosages are possible.

5.2.4. TIMEOUT TIME

The parameter, if enabled, enters a control time of lack of material. If the
material does not descend during the set time, the timeout alarms are displayed
and alarm output is activated.

The dosage formulae are the set of weight values of all the products that must
be dosed to get the final product. They are stored in the instrument file and are
identified by a formula number.
Maximum formula number = 99. The formula number 00is not allowed.

Once a formula is accepted, the maximum weight (pess mass) is checked. If the
PES MASS sum of the weights of the individual components in the formula exceeds the
maximum threshold, this message appears for two seconds and then the
instrument automatically returns to the wrong formula setting.

In order to carry out an automatic dosage, recall a formula from the file. This
operation can be carried out only if the automatic operation is selected.
8.2.1. RECALLING A FORMULA FROM OUTSIDE
To recall a formula by external selection, you need to set the number on the
input terminals, in binary format, corresponding to the number of the desired
formula.

The dosage starts by pressing START and confirming the operation with the
key ↵,by pressing any key, it exits the operation.
Dosage START can be determined by closing the specific external contact
(IN Start). In this case, the effect is immediate and no user confirmation is
asked.
Automatic dosage can be interrupted at any time by pressing the STOP key or
by closing the specific external contact (IN Stop)..
After STOP, if the SUSPENSION option is set, it is possible to repeat the
dosage with internal / external START or definitely interrupt it with internal /

When the function is selected at recalling the formula to be dosed, the number of auto-
matic cycles is requested.
Set:
a) No. of cycles 1, the single dosage is activated (it starts with a new start)
b) No. of cycles from 2 to 98 after start, the number of cycles set is activated (except
it is finished with a stop).
c) No. of cycles 99, continuous dosage cycles that finish with stop are activated.

The multirange allows the instrument to have more measuring fields (max. 3) with different division
value.
The field currently used is displayed through LEDs A=1st Field, b=2nd field, C=3rd field.
NOTE: The only division value that can be entered is the one corresponding to the lowest field; for
the other fields, the value is automatically calculated by taking the possible successive value.
In order to obtain only one measuring field (standard operation), the zero value must be entered in pa-
rameters Mul 1 and Mul 2 of code 00066.
This is the procedure to be followed to correctly set the parameters:
Example 1: I have a system with a 6000-Kg full-scale and I want to divide it into two fields:
1st field: minimum division e1= 1 Kg; Max1= 3000 Kg (from 0 to 3000 Kg, we will have 3000 div.)
2nd field: minimum division e2= 2 Kg; Max2= 6000 Kg (from 3000 Kg to 6000 Kg, we will have 1500
div.)
In the first field, the resolution will be 1 Kg. Once the value Max1(3000 Kg) is exceeded, the electronic
device will automatically toggle to resolution e2 (2 Kg). The instrument will not return to resolution e1
until the weight is completely unloaded.
In order to obtain this, tare the instrument with code 00444, I set the division e1 = 1 ; enter the full-
scale value (6000) in code 00033 and value 3000 into the parameter Mul 1 of code 00066.
The parameter Mul 2 will remain at zero.
The electronic device automatically calculates the division of the second field as the successive value af-
ter the first.
Example 2: I have a system with a 8000-Kg full-scale and I want to divide it into three fields:
1st field: minimum division e1= 1 Kg; Max1= 3000 Kg (from 0 to 3000 Kg, we will have 3000 div.)
2nd field: minimum division e2= 2 Kg; Max2= 6000 Kg (from 3000 Kg to 6000 Kg, we will have 1500
div.)
3rd field: minimum division e3= 5 Kg; Max3= 6000 Kg (from 3000 Kg to 6000 Kg, we will have 400
div.)
In the first field, the resolution will be 1 Kg. Once the value Max1(3000 Kg) is exceeded, the electronic
device will automatically toggle to resolution e2 (2 Kg).
Once the value Max2 (6000 Kg) is exceeded, the electronic device will automatically toggle to resolution
e3 (5 Kg).
The instrument will not return to resolution e1 until the weight is completely unloaded.
In order to obtain this, tare the instrument with code 00444, set the division e1 = 1 ; enter the full-scale
value (8000) in code 00033, value 3000 into the parameter Mul 1 and value 6000 in Mul of code 00066.

If the lock of metric data has been enabled by the internal key, it is possible to change some
locked parameters by this code.
You can access the metrological parameters is in two ways:
1) By enabling with switch placed inside such instrument (traditional method)
2) By entering in code 00820 a univocal pair of CODE/PASSWORD measuring values
for each user.
This method allows adjusting an instrument without having access to it but ensuring data
safety by recording the user who has logged on and the date.
Thos users that can log in to the instrument with a control will receive from NBC a sheet
with the CODE/PASSWORD combinations to use.
Access to code 820 will request a user name (USER). Now, you will see a code that
corresponds to a password on the sheet.
Enter this password to unlock the access to adjustment.
The lock will be reset when the instrument is restarted.

Fiscal memory allows storing the weighing results in a memory that cannot be modified
by the user.
The data include a univocal recalling number, gross and net weight.
The recalling number is printed on the ticket and, when entering it in the instrument, it
is possible to check the congruence of data printed.

The machine firmware can be upgraded to the latest version through the serial port.

“Megaflash.exe” downloadable from the internet site http://www.nbc-el.it is started,
load the new firmware in the program.

PASSWORD setting method with code 00022. (section 2.1)
AUTO 0 AUTO-ZERO AT POWER-UP. sets the weight interval round the zero, within which the visualisa-
tion of value 00000 is forced at power-up and it is used if there are material deposits that represent
additional tare. This forcing does not introduce any error in weighing. If, at power-up, the weight is
higher, it must be correctly displayed. The value is expressed with the same unit of measure of the
weight (setting 00000, the function is not active).
Min WEIGHT Minimum weighing threshold, which under this value appears the signalling segment related to the
1st display (see section 1.3)
ZERO TRACKING . keeps the display at 00000 even in case of alterations in time caused by material deposits or
system deviations. Zero forcing does not introduce any error in weighing. When weight is within the
zero tracking range for a period under the zero tracking time, automatic zeroing is carried out.
T 0 TR ZERO TRACKING TIME (zero tracking time). This parameter sets an interval of time during
which any zero variation must be balanced out. It is combined with the following zero tracking
range parameter. The unit of measure of this parameter is one tenth of a second; to set a time equal
to one second, 10 is to be written. The parameter is deactivated when value 0 is entered.
R 0 TR ZERO TRACKING RANGE (zero tracking range). This parameter sets a weight interval within
which any zero variation must be balanced out. It is combined with the previous zero tracking time
parameter. The unit of measure in this parameter are sub-divisions, which are equivalent to a tenth of
the displayed weight division.
STABLE WEIGHT is understood as the identification by the instrument of a still weight condition. When weight
is within the stable weight range for a period over the stable weight time, it is considered stable.
The identification of stable weight is used in automatic mode when the precise datum of weighing
must be printed, stored or sent over serial line.
T PST STABLE WEIGHT TIME. sets an interval of time; once that period has elapsed, a still weight is
considered stable. It is combined with the following stable weight range parameter. The regular
value is usually 20. If the identification of the stable weight should be sped up, that value can be de-
creased; however, it is advisable not to go below 04.
R PST STABLE WEIGHT RANGE sets a weight interval within which weight is considered stable. It is
combined with the previous stable weight time parameter. The regular value is usually 1, which is
equivalent to the stable weight identified within ± 1 minimum reading unit. If the stable weight should
be identified even in conditions of imperfect stability (due to external causes such as vibrations, wind,
etc.), this value in any unit can be increased.
MONOT MONOTONY. is understood as the identification by the instrument of variable weight conditions.
This parameter attenuates the weight caused by vibrations, wind, etc., until the weight is no longer in
motion (material loading or unloading). The regular value is usually 2. If the visualisation of still
weight is not stable, this value can be increased in any unit.
DIGITAL FILTER. is understood as the software function that stabilises the reading of weight and attenuates os-
cillations not lessened by analogue filters. This attenuation can be carried out by properly setting the
Digital filter window and Number of filter readings, parameters described below.
FIN FILTER WINDOW. represents the internal points interval within which the following parameter
related to the average of readings (default value 50 ) will be activated. If weights are subject to oscil-
lations, it is recommended to increase the value (e.g. 500 / 1000 / 2000). If the instrument is used in
optimal conditions and with maximum resolution, the value can be decreased.
N LETT NUMBER OF FILTER READINGS. sets the number to calculate the internal averages of at-
tenuation (default value 20 ). It increases only in case of slow oscillations (for example, in case of
mechanical vibrations or weighing over a crane) or decreased to have a faster reading.
FILTER ADDITIONAL FILTER ON WEIGHING if in certain cases you need an additional filter to stabi-
lise the weight (weighing live animals) increasing this value, the filter applied to the weight is increased.

Option YES. During the unloading phase, the reduced real weight is displayed.
UNLOAD INT Default NO . It is not possible to carry out unloading before the end of dosage.
Option YES. It is possible to enable unloading the material after a determined product.
ST. TARE Default YES. At start the instrument waits for the weight to be stable and carries out the tare.

The cable of the cell (or cells) must not be channelled with other cables (e.g. outputs connected
to contactors or power supply cables), but it must follow its own path.
Any extension connection of the cell cable must be carefully shielded in compliance with the
code of colours and by using the cable type supplied by the manufacturer. Extension connections
must be carried out through welding, supporting terminal blocks or the junction box supplied
separately.
The cell cable must not have more conductors than those used (4 or 6). In the case of a cable
with more conductors, connect the remaining wires to the cell power supply.
Up to a maximum of eight (8) 350-Ohm cells can be connected to the instrument in parallel. The
power supply voltage of cells is 5 Vdc and it is protected against temporary short-circuits.
