Renos Windows driver installation

Introduction
On Windows, you need to install a driver to communicate with the service port of the Renos unit.
Linux and Apple computers do not need a driver. You can download the driver from the Nedap Retail Partner
portal: http://portal.nedapretail.com/

Windows XP
Plug-in your USB device cable. Once the driver has loaded you should see a pop-up saying that Windows has
found a new hardware device called a "RNDIS/Ethernet Gadget".

This should bring up the "Found New Hardware" dialog, select "Install from a list or specific location
(Advanced)."
Click "Next"
Select "Don't search. I will choose the driver to install"
Click "Next"
Click "Have Disk..."
Select the location where you saved the "renos.inf" file
Click "OK"
Click "Next"
Click "Continue Anyway"
Click "Finish"

Windows 7 / 8 / 10
Plug-in your USB device cable. Once the driver has loaded you should see a pop-up saying that Windows has
found a new hardware device called a "RNDIS/Ethernet Gadget".

Start the "Device Manager"

Open "Network adapters" and search for "RNDIS/Ethernet Gadget" or "USB Serial Device (COMx)"
If not found try to open "Other devices" and search for "RNDIS/Ethernet Gadget" or "USB Serial Device
(COMx)"
Right-click "RNDIS/Ethernet Gadget" or "USB Serial Device (COMx)"
Select "Update Driver Software..."
Select "Browse my computer for driver software"
Select "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer"
Select "Network adapters"
Click "Have Disk..."
Select the location where you saved the "renos.inf" file
Click "OK"
Click "Next"
Click "Install this driver software anyway "press "Next"
Click "Close"
After that the driver should install successfully

Windows 10 example:

Download the driver from the Nedap portal and extract the folder. Connect the Renos unit via the USB service
port to your laptop and follow the instructions below.

Open the windows Device Manager:

Find the USB Serial Device that is actually the Renos unit:

Click on "Browse my computer for driver software":

Browse to the folder where the driver is stored on your laptop:
