7 Best ways to maintain healthy teeth

1) Brush twice a day

You may already know that many people would have recommended brushing you twice a day.
Twice a day, brushing your teeth stops your teeth from building up bacteria. Do you know?
Bacteria build up in your mouth, even passing through the bloodstream and artery deposits by
increasing the cholesterol content and this can result in a heart attack or stroke. Brushing also
removes plaques in your teeth, providing you with fresh breath and eliminating bad breath.

2) Use Fluoride toothpaste

Always use fluoride-containing toothpaste as it prevents cavities and whitens your teeth. The
American Dental Association (ADA) encourages the use of fluoride toothpaste. Even if you
brush in the toothpaste twice a day with no fluoride content, it won't completely remove the
plaques and it won't stop you from getting cavity-affected.

3) Dental Checkup every 6 month

It is highly recommended to go every six months for a dental check-up. Children may need a
compulsory check-up because they are unaware of proper brushing. Even some adults don't
understand how important it is to take care of your teeth. Therefore every person should consult
a dentist to check their mouth and ask how often you need a check-up, because it can vary
depending on your teeth, age, and dental health condition.
4) Use a mouthwash

After eating sticky foods, always do a full mouth rinse. Use a mouthwash with an anti-bacterial
component. Plaques and gingivitis are controlled by an antibacterial mouthwash. Mouthwash
even takes away the mouth's bad breath.

5) Limit foods that contain added sugar

Always go for ingredients that have no added sugar. Limit the amount of sugary and starchy
foods, like bread chips, etc., that are the foods that are mainly responsible for decay of the tooth.
Such foods split into simple sugars that not only fuel you but also feed the plaque and cause
decay of the tooth.
6) Floss your teeth

Flossing your teeth was one of the effective ways to get rid of the hard-to-remove plaques and
food particles when brushing. They easily reach between the teeth and under the gum line.
Plaque build-up is the main reason for problems associated with tooth decay and gum. Once a
day, floss is recommended.

7) Never smoke

Do not smoke, if you smoke tobacco stains on your teeth that increase the likelihood of gum
disease as well as the risk of oral cancer. The color of the teeth will be changed when you smoke
and bad breath will be created. Gum disease medication may not work for the people who
smoke.
