MechaProg ''A'' description

We have developed our "MechaProg A" tool for bench programming of VAG Mechatronics.
It is a multiplexer, based on regular VAS 5054 (you need to have own one) and work like Add-On
application. It can be installed on computers or laptops with VAS installed on Windows XP.

The unique feature of our tool is the way of choosing software - you can simply read needed part
number from VAS identification and compare it directly with our database. The tool will choose
automatically desired software and prepare it for programming.

"MechaProg A" has build-in offline (local) firmware database which covers almost all models and the
list is still growing up. This firmware includes all the latest and also many archiv versions as well (not
available by VW or Audi any more). There is actually more than 300 Multitronic files, more than 1200
DSG files, about 100 AISIN files and 200 ZF6HP-xx files in our database.

Programming of ZF and AISIN transmissions should be restricted to upgrading or downgrading of

software version. Interchanging of ZF 6HPxx software by Audi or Pheaton is very risky but still
possible (advanced knowledge required). MechaProg do not have READ function.
If you will have any ECU not listed in our database, simply send us a whole ECU to Germany and we
will read it out for you or ask for special tool for flash memory reading.
Please note, that software integration will be done with the next available update of Mechaprog! New
updates for all our customers are downloadable from internet. After updating application, you will be
able to see which new files are available from now.
Activating of new files will occure individualy for each customer.

The actual price of MechaProg A as BASIC VERSION is 2400,00 EUR

You will get Basic version of MechaProg.

The firmwares which are not available on your list you could purchase separately and use them without
limits, each of activation you will get over the email
MechaProg ''A'' - possibilities

I'm sure, that you know the problem with finding a right mechatronic for DSG transmission or
proper ECU for Multitronic 01J. This is almost impossible to fit used mechatronic into another
transmission, because there are over 3000 different software versions for all VAG models. We can solve
your problems giving you a possibility to change the program to desired one. It can be performed on
new or used mechatronics. You can reprogramm almost any transmission control module and make it
"fittable" in particular transmission. For example: Only with changing software version you can change
Multitronic 01J transmission coded as FSA from Audi A6 with 3,0 benz 160kW engine to an
Multitronic GEC for Audi A4 with 2,5 TDI 120 kW engine or to JKW for Audi A4 with 1,9 TDI 96kW.

MechaProg A also working on JG - 7 speed Multitronic 0AN transmission give you a possibillity to use
of very popular 01J control devices (Hardware number: 01J927156HT) instead of the original "JG"
with active immobilizer. The principle of our solution is to flash 01J927156HT TCM with a specially
prepared transmission software, which can emulate all the functions of JG modules on HT TCM,
excluding "SAFE" situation.

Due to frequent questions about the possibility of repair or replacement of the control units for 7 speed
Multitronic 0AN transmissions (well known 01J927156JG hardware with built-in immobilizer , their
programming outside of the car and the installation in a foreign vehicle is not possible), we would like
to inform you about an additional feature in our " MechaProg A" interface. This unique function
enables the use of very popular 01J control devices (Hardware number: 01J927156HT) instead of the
original "JG" with active immobilizer. At least all known problems with locked "JG" control units are
ultimately resolved . At the same time you can save a lot of money and stress, because transporting the
vehicle to the Audi dealer for "unlocking" the immobilizer will be no longer necessary, which is the
case even with brand new "JG" control units. This way we can offer our customers "plug and play"
control units, even for immobilised cars!

Another advantage of this solution is the fact that the "HT" control devices do not support the storage
of chassis numbers and it makes impossible to find out the source of the used "donors". Thus save us
the concerns about the legality or origin of used control units bought by our customers on eBay or
elsewhere.

I'm also sure, you are familiar with transmission issues, they need software update as a solution -
you will save a lot of time by performing this directly in your shop. For example: Updating 01J
transmission from 6 to 7 plates, solving shift problems on some older DSG transmissions or restetting
adaptation data by 6HP Audi's from 2004-2006

As all of our equipment was developed directly to solve our daily problems, we use only tested
methods, which leads to fast and successfull solutions. The most common problem on DSG gearbox
is faulty mechatronic unit. Many workshops comes on idea to replace it with "good used" unit to save
some money and increase profits. All this is possible, but the way of thinking need to be adapted to
modern days. I'll try to give you some advices, how to deal with DSG and other units which uses
mechatronics.
Observing VW and Audi developments you will come to the conclusion, that they release many
software updates as solution for particular problems. If the car leaves production and will be sold to the
end customer, during warranty time gearbox gets one or two software updates, which covers diverse
bugs and issues. After warranty VW and Audi don't care about updates anymore, because even if
transmission will brake, they can sell new gearbox and all are happy again. But... in the same time they
produce newer cars with gearboxes, which uses newer and better software and hardware to prevent
warranty problems..

Following this path, you should pay attention what kind of issue you are actually dealing with?

For example: You have a VW Golf VI with broken 6 speed DSG gearbox which was produced in year
2005. This car have the first generation of mechatronics and uses second software release. It is very
common that the reason of gearbox breakdown is caused by faulty software or technical weekness by
mechatronic. What you would like to do? Probably you will repair the gearbox mechanically and
replace the mechatronic with good used unit if the original one is not repairable. But you will read the
old software from broken mechatronic unit and copy it to the good used... nope!! This is wrong way to
deal. Otherways you will copy the reason of transmission failure to the next mechatronic, which leads
to next problems and customer comeback.

1. First of all, check if there is newer version of software available for this gearbox. If any exist - there
was an issue in previous version!!
2. Check if this mechtronic unit type was not replaced with newer or modified one over the time. If yes
- older units was definitely bad.

Back to our example.

Over the production time VW found in their mechatronics some weak points and they have developed
on 2007 newer modell with better performance. This unit use now different TriCore processor (instead
of older Motorola) and larger operational memory. The old software cannot be written on this unit
because new processor does not support it anymore. That's why VW have to develope a totally new
software for this car with newer mechatronic. So if you have read old software and will reuse it, you
are restricted for choosing the older hardware mechatronics version for your repair attempt and this one
was known for weak points. The only way to do it right will be to buy new mechatronic from dealer
with newest possible software inside... But, how could we reuse the newer generation units and find
which software will be right for this combination?

Exactly this problematic was a flash point for "MechaProg A" development. For many years we start to
gather all possible software versions for DSG gearboxes and list them on our description tables for
future use. This leads us to build a huge software database, which makes possible to find suitable SW
version for different cars and all mechatronics generations. This way we can always find an altenative
or replace mechatronics with the best one we found on our stock, without need to buy new and
expensive from VW or Audi dealer. The savings we made on this recycling make the "MechaProg A" to
the fastest amortised tool in our workshop. Each time we reuse repaired or "good used" mechatronics
for DSG or Multitronic gearboxes, we save hundreds of EUR.
"MechaProg A" gives you a possibility to create suitable mechatronic for each car just by choosing
software from the list and flash it to any TCU. You can also programm new empty DQ200 units
without having the original one (as they are frequently burned inside and have no communication at all)

As you know now, read and copy software from your old unit is not the best way to repair your
gearbox. You should always take the newest possible software version to prevent comebacks.
"MechaProg A" supplies hundreds of software versions for Multitronic 01J, DSG DQ250, DQ200, VW
and Audi 6HP-xx and 6 speed Aisin-Warner gearboxes. The DQ500 and immobilised units based on
UDS protocol are not suported by this tool. Beeing a universal gearbox multiplexer,

"MechaProg A" gives you also a opportunity to connect and reprogramm each ot this gearboxes or
mechatronics directly on the bench (outside of the car and OBD system). This way you can easily
perform diagnostics on dismounted transmissions or TCU's. You can connected TCU's not only from
VAG groups but also Mercedes 7G-Tronic and 722.8 using additional cables.
