1. SUPERVISION ON CHAPTER 1

Based on the meeting with the main supervisor on 15 May 2018, the supervisee received the following
comments:

 To put in the syllabus or blueprint with regard to English writing from Malaysian Ministry of
Education.

 To be careful with the wordings in order to prevent any confusion in academic understandings.

 To make sure that the research questions are align with research instruments specifically in how
it can be achievable, measurable and observable.

 To clearly highlight the gap in previous researches

 Explanation on the macro level of underpinning researches need to be expanded to make it

clearer for other researchers to perceive the underlying research problem.

2. DISCUSSION ON CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK

After a lengthy discussion with the supervisor, the researcher comes up with a conclusion that the
conceptual framework diagram need to be redesigned in order to suit with the correct way of marking the
different stages of research construct. As what has been mentioned by the supervisor, there are five level
of research construct and it is as the following:

1) Research Area
2) Research Methodology
3) Data Collection
4) Data Analysis
5) Findings

3. CONSULTATION ON RESEARCH DESIGN AND RESEARCH SAMPLE

With regard to the research design, the supervisor is asking researcher to read more on mixed-method
research design. In fulfilling that demand, the supervisor is willing to lend her book on mixed-methods
research design. Based on the researcher’s understanding, the design can be applied if the data is not only
on the surface level but something that can provide an intellectual impetus to the current knowledge.
Furthermore, the sample needs to be specified to a certain criteria that can prevent any biasness and lack
of information from it. Thus, there is a change of focus with regard to the sample. After several
discussions, the researcher come up with an agreement with the supervisor that the proposed study can
be conducted in a public university setting. One university that has been recommended by the supervisor
is USIM (Malaysian University of Islamic Sciences). Further works on contacting the university will be done
by the researcher in a near time.

CONCLUSION
The report is an honest account of what has been grasped and noted by researcher from the Week 14
meeting with Dr. Kemboja Ismail, the main supervisor. Although the meeting endured some interference
from people who want to meet her, the researcher is able to gain some new knowledge and make
correction on what have been done. Moreover, the meeting is a good way to assess my understanding on
the subject matter before any future presentation on the research topic can be done.
