racial justice, make a donation to the national SURJ organization or our local chapter and, in keeping with
SURJ’s value of matching donations to people of color led organizations working for racial justice, donate to the

Join us for an informal social gathering in honor of SURJ’s 10-year anniversary on December 3 from
5-7 pm at The Bird and The Book (1509 E. Broadway in Maryville) to celebrate together, make connections
with other local folks interested in racial justice, and talk about racial justice in Blount County and beyond!

Listen to the recorded 10-year Anniversary Call where SURJ hosted a panel discussion with Patrisse
Cullors, Makani Themba, Carla Walllace, and Pam McMichael to discuss the past, present and future of SURJ
as it relates to the broader movement for racial, economic, social, and environmental justice. The call was
celebratory, but also emphasized the opportunities and directions we can take in the future.
