Aaron Dave Lingkitan a boy with talents, looks and intelligence was crowned as the MVP of Basketball Championship Game grabbed the limelight as he took his three consecutive bulls eye three points shot to carry the Red Barbarians to their thrilling victory against White Elephant, 36-29, during Dagatkidavao Integrated School Intramurals 2019 at Dagatkidavao Gymnasium last July 26, 2019. “Go, go, Barbarians”. Shouted hundreds of europhic student of DKDIS in the first quarter ended a score of 12-6 in favor of Red Barbarians. But the europhia boiled down in second quarter when Miko Decrito of White Elephant got his momentum and fired three successive two point shots to carry the Barbarians gasping for breath, 18-17, Elephant on the lead. In third quarter, the game becomes more thrilling resulting for numerous deadlocks, 25- 25, 27-27 but Bautista of Barbarians switched the adrenalin for his camp resulting them to lead, 28-29. Both team started the fourth quarter slowly as they run into the maze of turnovers. The crucial play came right in last two minutes of the last quarter when the hero Decrito got an ankle injury and has been wipe out for the game. Lingkitan proved his worth and fired three successive bull’s eye three-point shot carrying the Red Barbarians to their breath-taking win, 36-29. “Because of our hard work and unity, we achieved victory”, shattered Lingkitan after the breath-taking maneuver. The cities biggest sports event, the 2019 City Division Athletic Meet officially opened Thursday morning of September 12. The event was participated by four competing teams in the elementary, three teams for the public schools and one team for the private schools. Another three competing teams for secondary level, one team from Valencia National High School, one team from the clustered public secondary schools and another team for the private schools. The event started with an opening program at Valencia City Gymnasium. The program includes Division sports banner raising conducted by Victoria V. Gazo, PhD., CESO V, the Schools Division Superintended and Eugene I. Macahis Jr., Assistant of the Schools Division Superintended and lighting of the urn by delegates qualified in Palarong Pambansa 2018-2019. The delegates of the event were introduced through the yells each competing teams presented. With the theme: “Shaping the future Through Sports” this year’s Sports Fest aims to select potential athletes to compose the Division of Valencia City Delegation to the Northern Mindanao Regional Athletic Meet and to promote sportsmanship and achieve peace by means of sports. The athletes competed in different field of sports: arnis, athletic, badminton, baseball, basketball, boxing, chess, football, futsal, sepak takraw, softball, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, tennis, volleyball, etc. The games were played in different venues within the City of Valencia. Dagatkidavo Integrated School sent 1o delegates to compete in the said sports event. The DKDIS students who participated in Sepak Takraw were: Mark Joshua Ticar John Mark Yburan Albert Belmis Rhyan Collantes Aljon Constantino Angel Rose Medalla In Basketball, the delegates were: Joeharry Villasro Jehken Ballaso In boxing was Cyra Marie Candari and Vera Marie Licudine for Chess. There were three qualified students to participate in Northern Mindanao Regional Athletic Meet from DKDIS namely Mark Joshua Ticar, John Mark Yburan and Albert Belmis from Sepak Takraw event. The sports event ended with awarding of medals to the winners in each event. Blue Dragons Reigns Supreme To promote sportsmanship and achieve peace through sports, DKDIS celebrates its annual Intramurals 2019 with the theme “Building Globally Competitive Students through Sports” at Dagatkidavao Integrated School on July 25-26, 2019. All students, teachers and stakeholders participated the Color Fun Run activity to officially opened the Intramurals 2019, followed by the Zumba competition held at DKDIS ground with the master of ceremony, Mr. Nathan Waga. These event participated by 22 teachers with one school head and 797 students grouped in six: Green Archers, Yellow Phoenix, Red Barbarians, Blue Dragons, White Elephant and Violet Snakes.
