1 a. Define Static and Kinematic indeterminacy, with an example. (04 Marks)


b. Explain the principal of minimum potential energy. (04 Marks)

c. Develop the flexibility and stiffness matrix with respect to the co-ordinates shown in
fig. Q1(c) and show that [K] = [f]-1. (12 Marks)

2 Analyse the continuous beam shown in fig. Q2 by flexibility transformation method. Support B
sinks down by 10mm. EI = 5 × 104 KN m2. Find MA and MB. (20 Marks)
