The Epic of Gilgamesh tells a story about a legendary king, so basically the Myth is all about the biography

of this famous and all powerful king base on my very own perspective. The thing that made this story
stand out is because of its uniqueness in the process and the style of narrative of this myth is that it is not
only delve deeper on the adventure, heartbreak and supernatural side but there is a mixture of love,
comedy, maturity, brotherhood and the adventure of the king in becoming wiser. This mixture of elements
within the narrative of the story only become more extreme in the antiquity of the material when it was
blended with the existentialism of life, wonderful manipulation of imagery and the dynamic personality
of the characters throughout the story. With this you can find amusements with the adventure, mistakes
and the changes happening within the story without it being predictable.

The Epic of Gilgamesh has a lot of wisdom when it comes to humanity, life and love. One best example
for that is this “Forget death and seek life” this exact word encourage me to be more brave and be a risk
taker in life, it also tells us that we human tends to worry about death that made us fill with anxiety and
forget how to live the days that we have because we are so focus on the legend/stories that we will left
when we die. When it comes to the impact of the story to me is that it made me realize that no matter
how much fear you can create to other people’s heart, how powerful you can be and how many pleasures
in life you experience you will still be a human being. A human being that is allowed to make mistakes,
allowed to be overcome with its own emotion that you allow yourself to go in the realm of the death and
experience growth in becoming more mature. Gilgamesh is a powerful one because he is demi god but
even if he is the son of a God, you can still see within his character that he is very much a human being.
He experience, heartbreaks, limitations, seeks pleasures with simple things in life and just like us he also
experience this existentialist crisis when he wonders what is the true meaning of life and love. He also
wonders what is the true purpose of his life, wonders the life with uncertainty and cope up with losing
the one you truly love. This side of Gilgamesh made me relate to him in a another level and made me
realize that if Gilgamesh a powerful being experience this very human thing and still found answers then
I can too with my own little footsteps.

The paraphrased version of the verse thirteen of the Rubaiyat;

The Great Beauty of this world are a few; and few express tiredness

To the Coming of the Paradise of the Prophet;

Ah, Remove the Money and Let go of the Credit

Neither Pay attention to the Sound of the Distant Drum’s Resonance

This verse tells the two nature of man that we can see today. Some of the people pursue their
passion to explore the world, life and other worldly pleasures. While, some people strive to be the perfect
model of divine providence in order for them to have place in the Paradise made by God. The verse also
tells us that money, power, acknowledgement of other people and wealth are not the real treasure of life,
so we must let of this things and focus on what is more important. We must live in the moment, do not
fear tomorrow or past but appreciate TODAY.
