METHODOLOGY
Research Design
The study used the correlational research design between the study’s two
variables, 12th grade students’ social media usage and their anxiety level. The study
was conducted to determine whether there is a significant relationship between the
students’ social media usage and their anxiety level. With this design, the
researchers would be able to point out if there is relationship between the two
variables or not.
Sampling Technique
The data that is need to be determines is the 12th grade students’ anxiety
level and their social media usage. The anxiety level of each student will be
collected with the use of a self-prepared Likert Scale-based questionnaire and a
survey questionnaire. In the 1st questionnaire, certain feelings and emotions are
presented and the student would be rating how often they experience it at a given
period. After that, the scores of the student would determine if he/she possesses
severe anxiety level. If the student does have the specific anxiety level a participant
must have, he\she would then be asked to answer the 2nd questionnaire. The 2nd
questionnaire contains specific questions that would determine the usage of social
media of the student. Before gathering data, the researchers would ask permission
to their research adviser, research teacher and the students that would be asked to
answer questionnaires, by giving them a letter that requires their approval to do a
survey.
Data Analysis
To analyze the data gathered regarding social media usage and anxiety
levels of grade 12 students with questionnaires, the researchers would use the
Pearson Sheet. The Pearson Sheet would be used since it is suitable for analyzing
whether there is or there is no relationship between the social media usage and
anxiety level of selected grade 12 students.
