A study on the Start-ups incubated at KSUM during 2002-12 period.

 OBJECTIVES

• To know how many start-ups were incubated at KSUM during

2002-12
• To know how many of them are running successfully
• To know the various factors that aided them in becoming
successful

 INTRODUCTION
This study is done to analyse the present state of various start-ups
that were incubated at KSUM during 2002-12. There was a total of
101 start-ups incubated here. Of it only contact details of 76 start-
ups were available in internet and of that 77, only the contact details
of 17 were find correct

 Method of study
The study was a descriptive one. I contacted the start-ups and asked
whether they could give me an appointment. Of the 15 I met with 5
of them personally. A detailed questionnaire was prepared covering
all the required information and conducted the study according to it.
Various valuable information was obtained from the conversation I
had with them which helped in my study.

 LIMITATIONS

The limitations I found while doing this study are the following
• Wrong contact info provided
• Employees doesn’t have an idea about the company’s history
• Company websites are not updated frequently.

 CONCLUSION

From my study I find out that there were many start-ups during the
period 2002-12. But only a few became success. The reasons why
they failed included
• stiff competition,
• lack of funds,
• improper planning,
• lack of market,
• lack of technology etc.
Those which became success
• had a well-planned mode of operation
• they retained the employees from the beginning stage itself
who were loyal to the company.
• Merged with some other companies to get more market share.
