IndiaSkills Gujarat 2020 Competition – Notification dated 15-10-2019

World Skills Competition is the largest skill competition in the world, held once every two years in one of
the World Skills International member countries. These competitions provide both a benchmark for high
performance and an objective way to assess vocational excellence. Objective is to promote world class
standards in more than 50 skills under six skill strands (sectors) as under:

 Construction and Building Technology

 Transportation and Logistics
 Manufacturing and Engineering Technology
 Information and Communication Technology
 Creative Arts and Fashion
 Social and Personal Services.

In 2021 the World Skills Competition will be held at Shanghai, China. Considering the World Skills
Competition, India Skills Competition, a pan India championship of skills, is held in every alternate year. In
2020 India Skills Competition will be held to cream off candidates from different trades, who will be
representing the country at the Olympics of Skills in 2021.

IndiaSkills Gujarat 2020 Competition

Keeping in mind the India Skills Competition 2020 and eventual participation of candidates from Gujarat in
World Skills Competitions 2021 at Shanghai, China, the state level skills competition will be organized in the
state of Gujarat (timeline will be notified in due course of time). The champions sprouting out of the State
Skill Competition will harness their skills under the aegis of both state level experts and national level
experts to participate in Regional Skills Competition followed by India Skills Competitions and eventually
will represent the country at Shanghai in 2021.

This notification by Gujarat Skill Development Mission (GSDM) intends to generate awareness regarding
the registration mode / modalities and eligibility criteria with regard to the India Skills Gujarat 2020
Competition.

Further in this regard the interested and eligible (please refer to the eligibility criteria for participation)
candidates can apply for further screening through website “www.indiaskillsgujarat.org” till 30th November,
2019. The link has been provided on website i.e. www.indiaskillsgujarat.org

Please note that the interested and eligible candidates need to furnish all the requisite details requested
in the registration form (as applicable) and also need to upload all relevant documents. During further
screening processes, the candidates will have to furnish the originals/true-copies of their uploaded
documents in hard copy to the relevant authorities, if required.

The screening may be held in each district and competition may be held at two levels in the state – Zonal
and state level depending on the number of nominations / registrations. Top 2 candidates/Team (Winner
and Runner-up) from each skill will be selected at state level who will represent Gujarat state at Regional
level. The main activities to be undertaken are as under:

Mobilization / Selection:
• The state will organize district, zonal and state level Skill Championship.
• For mobilization of the candidate an extensive mobilization campaign through print and
electronic media will be carried out in the month of October & November 2019.
• Interested candidates can register online on portal.
Logistic and Academia / Training support:
• In order to ensure widespread popularity and audience participation eventually resulting in an
increased spectrum of participation in the coming years, the state skill competition across
most of the trades will be held at central location in a single venue or at segregated venues as
per need and availability of infrastructure.
• The Premier Technical Institutions and industry partnering with state may be in charge for
providing with the infrastructure for training purpose and to offer experts to train the candidates
in the trades chosen by the state.

Prize:
After State competition, top 2 candidates/team (Winner and Runner-up) from each skill will be eligible to
receive cash prize. There may be a provision for Zonal level winner also.

Post State Level Championship support:

The winners at the state skill champions (who would be eligible and shortlisted for Regional Level
Competition) would be groomed and provided intense training to fine tune the skills under the guidance
of mentor. The mentoring aspect along with training would be joint responsibility of GSDM and NSDC.

GSDM envisions that this initiative will create awareness amongst the youth of Gujarat and embolden
them to harness their skills either acquired through heritance or imbibed at different institutions and
compete with the global competition.

General Terms and Conditions:

 The competitions at different levels will be held across various skills / trades.
 One competitor can apply in ONLY one trade / skill at the time of registration.
 Aadhaar card is mandatory for all the competitors.
 Gujarat Skill Development Mission has identified Institutions and Industry Partners who will be
acting as a mentor for conducting the various competitions for this mega event. These mentoring
/ partnering institutions will be carrying out the different levels screening / selections.

Eligibility criteria
 The applicant must be an Indian national and resident of Gujarat / studying in Gujarat / working in
Gujarat / currently residing in Gujarat.
 A candidate born on or after 1st January 1999 will be eligible. Mobile Robotics and Mechatronics
are TEAM SKILL COMPETITIONS where a team of 2 individuals are required for the competition. For
Mechatronics, competitors must be born on or after 1st January 1996.
 Formal education is not mandatory.

1. New User click on the “REGISTER” button provided on website www.indiaskillsgujarat.org

2. Please provide your Date of Birth and E-mail ID with password and mobile number and click on
“Verify”. You will receive an OTP on given mobile number. Please write OTP and verify your
number.
3. Pop-Up message will appear on screen to complete your application. Click on “OK” and Complete
your application.
4. Field 1: Skill / Trade Name (Mandatory Field): - Please choose your Skill / Trade for participation
that you intend to compete in from the dropdown.
5. Field 2: District: Please choose the district you are currently leaving in from dropdown.
6. Field 3: Participant’s First Name (Mandatory Field): - Please write your name as per your 10th
Passing Certificate (if 10th passed) or as per your Aadhaar Card in case the applicant has not passed
10th Standard.
7. Field 4: Participant’s Father’s Name (Mandatory Field): - Please write your Father’s complete
name as per your Academic certificate or as per your Aadhaar Card in case the applicant has not
pursued formal education.
8. Field 5: Participant’s Last Name (Mandatory Field): - Please write your surname as per your
Academic certificate or as per your Aadhaar Card in case the applicant has not pursued formal
education.
9. Field 6: Gender (Mandatory Field): - Please select your Gender from dropdown

the house number as well as per your Aadhaar Card or any other Relevant Address proof.

14. Field 11: Institute Name (Mandatory Field): - Please provide full name of institute participant has
last attended. Please don’t use short name of institutes. If you don’t have any formal education,
please mention “Not Applicable”.

16. Field 13: Aadhaar Number (Mandatory Field): - Please provide your Aadhaar number as per your
Aadhaar Card.

18. Field 15: Passport size Photograph (Mandatory Field): - Please Upload a copy of your recent

19. Field 16: Proof of Birth Date (Mandatory Field): - Please upload a Proof of Birthdate that clearly
states your date of birth.
20. After successfully completion of application, please print your application by clicking on “Print”
button and keep it safe for future reference. In addition, you will also receive an email with
registration number and password.
21. Use your email ID and password to login to view your application.

In case there are issues with your registration and you are not able to fill any fields on account of the
form’s restrictions, please write to worldskill.gsdm@gmail.com with contact number with the subject
line as “Registration Issue for IndiaSkills Gujarat 2020 Competition” as per the stipulated deadlines
stated earlier in this notification. No other subject line will be taken into consideration regarding
registration issues.
