Competency Unit Title RETARDER & ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS) SERVICING
Retarder & Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) servicing competency is a set of skills to carry out retarder & Anti-Lock
Brake System (ABS) servicing that includes knowledge about various types of retarder and Anti-Lock Brake System
(ABS) component. The person whom is competent in retarder & Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) servicing works must
Competency Unit Descriptor be able to identify retarder & Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) servicing requirements, service and repair retarder,
wheel speed sensor check, diagnose and replace abs component, check brake system functionality and report
service activities according to manufacturer’s specification, regulation requirement, vehicle specification, safety
requirement and standard operating procedures (SOP)
