Identify distinct characteristics of music in South East Asia (Malaysia and
Thailand) in relation to the history.
Compare the characteristics of music produced in different countries.
Appreciate the importance of musical instruments in the lives of people.

For you to easily understand the Southeast Asian music lets answer the
following question?
The class will be divided into four groups and each group will identify the
similarities and differences of each musical instruments and performances in Malaysia and
Thailand, using a venn diagram.
For group one and two - Identify the similarities and differences of musical
Instruments in Thailand and Malaysia.
For group three and four - Identify the similarities and differences of
Abstraction.
Have you noticed that these musical performances are used in different manners
in their culture? What do you think is the importance this performances in their culture?
Evaluation:
After watching/listening to the Agung and Kulintang , write down your description of
each musical ensemble in a sheet of paper. You may use the guide questions below. As soon as
you’ve finished answering, compare your answers with your partner. Check if you have the
same description.
