INTRODUCTION
IPMAT or IPM Aptitude Test is a national level test conducted by the Indian
Institute of Management Indore for admission to its five-year Integrated
Management Programme. This UG-level management entrance test is con-
ducted in an online mode. There are 120 seats in the programme as of 2018
and as many as 17,000 candidates are expected to appear for the exam in
2018 based on last year’s trends.

The programme consists of 15 terms spread over a period of five years, con-
sisting of three terms of 3 months each. The first three years build a founda-
tion and the last two years focus on management. As part of the programme,
the IPM students are required to complete a social internship at the end of
third year. In addition to the Social Internship, IPM students do a business
internship along with the PGP students between the fourth and fifth year.

IPMAT Eligibility: Students who have passed the higher secondary

examination from a recognized board can apply
for IPMAT. A minimum of 60% and 55% marks in
aggregate for the general and reserved category
candidates respectively is required at the HSC/
Standard 12 level or equivalent. Candidates who
are likely to complete HSC/standard XII or equiva-
lent by June 30, 2018, can also apply. The age limit
for general and NC-OBC Category applicants must
not be more than 20 years as on July 31, 2018.
For SC/ST and reserved category candidates, the
maximum age limit is 22 years. Mathematics is not
mandatory in 10+2.
IPMAT Application Procedure: The online appli-
cation form has to be filled by visiting the IIM Indore
website between March 12 and April 18, 2018. The
applicants have to register and login through the
given credentials and fill the form. The application
fee to be paid by the candidates is Rs.3000+GST
and Rs. 1500+GST for the General/NC-OBC and
reserved category candidates respectively. As
compared to the previous year, the application fee
has increased for IPMAT 2018. Candidates also
have to upload the attested copies of all docu-
ments along with the application form as per the
instructions given in the information brochure.
IPMAT Exam Pattern: IPMAT 2018 will be a
computer-based test, consisting of 100 questions
to be completed in two hours (120 minutes). As per
the exam pattern of IPMAT 2018, the exam pat-
tern has been divided into three sections namely
Quantitative Ability (Multiple Choice Questions),
Quantitative Ability (Short Answer Questions- SA)
and Verbal Ability (Multiple Choice Questions).
Each question carries 4 marks and for each wrong
answer, 1 mark is deducted.
IPMAT Admit Card: The admit card for IPMAT

2018 will be issued by IIM Indore in the first week
of May 2018. It is a proof of registration for the
candidates as only the successfully registered
candidates will be able to download the IPMAT
admit card 2018.
IPMAT Result: The officials announce the out-
come of IPMAT which is the test result in the form
of a list of shortlisted students in the month of May
2018. The IPMAT result can be checked online
logging through candidate’s credentials. The final
selection list of IPM Aptitude Test will be based on
the performance in the written test and personal
interview. Shortlisted candidates then have to
appear for the personal interview rounds.
IPMAT Selection Procedure: The candidates
who meet the cutoff as released by IIM-Indore after
the exam result will be called for Written Ability
Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI). The candi-
dates will be selected on the basis of their overall
performance in the Aptitude Test, WAT and PI. The
selection process is done in Five Stages.

IPMAT ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The Eligibility Criteria of IPMAT is officially prescribed by the exam conduct-
ing body – IIM Indore. As per the IPMAT Eligibility Criteria, candidates who
have passed or appeared for Class XII/higher secondary exam can appear
for the test.

As per the Eligibility Criteria of IPMAT, candidates who have passed higher
secondary from a recognized institute with minimum 60% marks in aggre-
gate can apply for the test and participate in the admission process.

Other Eligibility Guidelines for IPMAT :

●● Candidates who are likely to complete standard XII/ HSC or equivalent by the end of June
30, 2018 can also apply, subject to meeting the eligibility criteria as mentioned above. If
selected, such candidates will be offered admission to the programme provisionally. At the
time of registration for the programme, such candidate must have to produce Standard X
and XII marksheet (securing minimum marks i.e. 60% for General and NC-OBC or 55% for
SC, ST and PwD) along with school leaving certificate/migration certificate, failing which the
candidate’s provisional admission offer will stand cancelled.
●● The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in Standard X and XII would be calculated
based on the aggregate marks of all subjects that appear in the mark sheet/grade sheet,
irrespective of the Board’s regulation. In case the candidates are awarded letter grades or
grade points instead of marks, the conversion of grades to percentage of marks would be
based on the procedure certified by the Board/Competent Authority explaining the method
of conversion from where they have obtained the certificate.
●● Applicants pursuing their Standard X and/or XII from international schools affiliated to for-
eign board’s like IGCSE (International General Certificate for Secondary Education) and IB
(International Baccalaureate) can also apply.

How to Fill IIM Indore IPMAT Application Form:

●● Eligible candidates have to first visit the official website of Indian Institute of Management
Indore (IIM Indore).
●● Click on the registration link of IPMAT. Fill in basic details such as name, email ID, phone
number and date of birth to register online.
●● After the registration part is complete, fill in other required details such as personal details,
educational details, contact details etc. in the online form.
●● Candidates have to re-login using the login credentials.
●● Applicants must provide correct details as after the registration process, these cannot be
changed
●● Pay the application fee. The application fee is Rs. 3000 for General category candidates and
Rs. 1500 for Reserved category candidates.
●● Please note that candidates belonging to NC-OBC, SC, ST and PWD/DA categories need to
submit valid and attested certificates in support of their reservation category.
●● The application fee has to be paid in online mode only through Credit/Debit Card or NetBank-
ing modes.

What after filling and submitting the IPMAT

Application Form 2018
Once you are done with the form and fee submitting, you have to download
the IPMAT 2018 Admit Card which will be available in May 2018. The hall
ticket or admit card is an important document, as without which a candidate
will not be allowed to appear in the IPMAT 2018 test.

IPMAT ADMIT CARD

IIM Indore will release the IPMAT 2018 admit card in the first week of May.
IPMAT admit card 2018 will be available online only to those candidates
who successfully submit the application form along with the application fee.
Candidates can download the admit card by entering their login credentials.
It is mandatory to carry the admit card of IPMAT 2018 on the exam day as
no candidate will be allowed to appear for the test without it.

IPMAT EXAM PATTERN

IIM Indore has been conducting IPMAT in online mode from 2016
onwards. The total duration for the test is Two hours (120 minutes). The
sections are time-bound, and the duration of each section would be 40
minutes. There will be 40 questions in Quantitative Ability- MCQ and
Verbal Ability and 20 questions in Quantitative Ability- Short Answer
(SA). Negative marking will not be applicable for the Quantitative Abil-
ity- SA section.

IPMAT Marking Scheme

●● Each question will carry four marks.
●● There will be a negative marking of one mark for each wrong answer. Negative marking
will not be applicable for the Quantitative Ability- SA section

IPMAT Exam Pattern Guidelines

●● The entrance exam is conducted in computer-based mode.
●● The total number of questions is 100.
●● The exam is of total 400 marks.
●● IPMAT has 2 sections, namely Quantitative Ability and Verbal Ability.
●● Four marks are awarded for each correct answer and for each wrong answer; there is
a negative marking of 1 mark.
●● Within the test, the Quantitative Ability section carries higher weightage than that ofthe
Verbal Ability section. 60% weightage is given to the Quantitative Ability (QA) section,
40% weightage is given to the Verbal Ability (VA) section.

IPMAT RESULT 2018

The result of IPMAT 2018 is expected to be announced by the officials in
the fourth week of May. IPMAT result 2018 is available in the form of scores/
percentile. Candidates can check their overall and sectional scores of IPMAT
by entering their login credentials (application form number and date of
birth). Shortlisted candidates will be called for WAT and PI as part of selec-
tion process.
