Dear Mr. Jarata,
I recently came across your teacher posting on www.ayoqerja.com last Monday, October 27th, and I’m writing to express my interest in helping JIS achieve its vision and mission as “The Global School”. I believe that my experiences that I gained during my time in Universitas PGRI Semarang (major in English education), could make me an ideal candidate for this position at your school. In my current role as a tutor in some private courses in Semarang, I am responsible for teaching English to students in grade 7-12, managing classes, and counseling students on learning difficulties. The professional experience I have gained during my time here has helped me to understand the characteristics of students more and to find the right ways to deal with problematic students, while improving my overall teaching knowledge. Prior to this position, I spent three years in the field of public speaking while still studying at UPGRIS. I am quite capable in terms of communicating with people, and able to handle almost any situation even under pressure. My experience in the field of competitive debate makes me capable of doing things in multi-tasking, as well as practicing Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS), which makes it easier for me to deal with classroom situations that are sometimes quite troublesome. I was also quite skilled in journalism during my college years. I was once the head of the "writing class" division, which made me also the editor-in-chief of the campus magazine. I've also wrestled in the world of broadcasting, precisely as a news reporter, editor, camera person, to the news anchor. Aside from those activities that I did in UPPGRIS, I also was an exchange student in Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University in Philippines. I'd say that as a fresh graduate, I'm already equipped with some extra-curricular experiences that I wish they could contribute more to the skills and knowledge of JIS students, because I believe that as a "global school," JIS’ students don't only need academic knowledge, but also extra-curricular skills that can further develop their personality and capacity. Moreover, I’m young, energetic, eager, yet goofy at the same time. Hence, I’m more than excited about the opportunity to join JIS team as it moves to be the best school in Indonesia. I have also attached my resume for further review. Thank you very much for your time and consideration.
