hard work of praying, equipping, preparing, and implementing such a massive plan.
Though it may seem to be the harvest, I think we are making a huge mistake if we
stop there. In truth, it is the beginning of the spiritual sowing season. Let me explain
with the following scriptural and practical principles: Ministry Position Available

Prepare the Soil- It takes hours to prepare for an evangelistic event. There are prayer Montgomery seeks a part-time

hundred questions that one must answer to have a great event. I wrote a book during worship leader.

Plow the Field and Plant the Seed- As an analogy, your event is “you in the field, practice (time negotiable). Call
turning the soil.” In other words, GAME ON! Many of you illustrated this principle
with your fall festivals. For some, it was rainy and cold. For others, it was sunny and Betty Brown at 334-264-3875
hot. But you plowed the field and planted the seed with great success. for more information.
Cultivate the Crop- Every garden needs watering and weeding. But if you want to
have a garden, you must have a gardener. Somebody needs to follow up with the data
gathered (collecting contact information is the most critical part of the journey). Put
these names before the throne of grace. Follow up, using the MTV approach (Mail/
Email, Telephone/Text, Visit/Host an inquiry gathering). These principles still work.
People want to know you care.
Celebrate the Harvest - Relationships are everything.
Ninety-three percent of those who come to church
come on the arm of a friend. From the preparation to
the plowing to the cultivating, you have been inviting
that “someone” to your church and the Lord of the
church. I hope you are inviting your new friends to
Jesus. I hope you are asking them to begin their
journey with you in church and Bible study. I hope you
are participating in the harvest moment. Seize the Day!
As the scripture says, “Let us not grow weary in doing
good, for in due time, we will reap the harvest if we
faint not” (Galatians 6:9). You may also have someone
get saved that you are working with and see them
attend another church. Don’t be frustrated. Celebrate
by remembering what Paul said, “I planted the seed, Eastern Hills Baptist
Apollos watered it, but God made it grow” Fall Festival 2019
(1 Corinthians 3:6).

Let us remember that any event, any task, any effort, has one
objective: Make Christ Known. That is the Gospel Above All. Mary and I count it a
privilege to be on your “planting and watering” team.
