Word Activity # 6
Mad Libs
Mad Libs is a story-telling game. Start off by typing a 5-7 sentence story.
Then, pick 5 words and erase them. As you erase each word, type in what
part of speech it is (noun, verb, adjective, adverb, etc) . These will serve as
prompts. You can also type in a more specific prompt, like “number”,
“kitchen appliance”, “holiday”, etc. You will read these prompts to a partner
and he/she will respond. For instance, if you say “noun” your partner might
say “baby” since “baby” is a noun. Your partner can‟t see the story until
he/she responds to all of your prompts. Once the words have been filled
in, read the story aloud to your partner.
**Bold and Underline the prompts in the original story. In the finished story,
use text highlight on the words your partner chooses**
