Using Different Assessment Methods, Tools and Tasks.

Learning Overview:
There is different assessment methods, tools and task to assess used for learners.
 Several domains of learning-cognitive, affective, psychomotor
 Nine (9) Multiple Intelligence
 Classification of Assessment Methods

Domain Learning
1. COGNITIVE
Involves knowledge and the development of intellectual skills. This includes the
recall or recognition of specific facts, procedural patterns, and concepts that serve in the
development of intellectual abilities and skills.

Five (5) Cognitive Sub-Domain:

a. MEMORY - is often understood as an information processing system with explicit
and implicit functioning that is made up of sensory processor short term-long
term memory.
b. EXECUTIVE FUNCTIONING - are a set of processes that all have to do with
managing oneself and one’s resources in order to achieve a goal.
c. ATTENTION - notice taken of someone or something; the regarding of someone
as interesting or important.
d. LANGUAGE - is a system that consists of the development acquisition,

the spatial relations among objects or space. Design to measure your visual and
perceptual abilities as well your abstract reasoning.

to be rated high in the value, to avoid, to
resist, to manage, to resolve

2. PSYCHOMOTOR - refers to the use of motor skills, coordination and physical

movement.
Nine (9) Multiple Intelligence
Learners have multiple intelligences and varied styles and must be given the
opportunity to demonstrate learning that is aligned to their intelligence. It is good for
teachers to consider the multiple intelligence of learners to enable demonstrate learning
in a manner which makes them feel comfortable and successful.
Classification of Assessment Methods

Authentic Assessment - gives students situations that occur in the real-world which
require them to apply their skills and knowledge.

Traditional Assessment - treats learning as a passive process, assumes the purpose

of assessment is to document learning.

Assessment
In education, the term assessment refers to wide variety of methods or tools that
educators use to evaluate, measure, and document the academic readiness, learning
progress, skill acquisition or educational needs of students.
The primary purpose of assessment is to improve students ‘learning and teachers’
teaching as both respond to the information it provides.
