Okay very good!

Now, if you were a chef; what food will

- Cow have 4 feet same as pig.
- Pig produces pork while cow
produces beef.
- Mother cow can produce 3-4 baby
cows however mother pig can

What did you observe from the first,

second… sentences? Some words are written in bold letters.

Now, look at these clocks. What can you

say about it?

They are different because the first

clock shows 7 o’clock while the other
one shows 3 o’clock.

Now look at these clocks. What did you

observe?
They are both 7 o’clock. They are the

can found them in the backyard.

Comparison and Contrast

Compare - tell what is the same
about two things

contrasting two things.

Definition: Compares and contrasts the

similarities and differences between two
things.

Chemical and Physical Changes

All matter, all things can be changed in two

ways: chemically and physically. Both
chemical and physical changes affect the
state of matter. Physical changes are those
that do not change the make-up or identity
of the matter. For example, clay will bend
or flatten if squeezed, but it will still be
clay. Changing the shape of clay is a
physical change, and does not change the
matter’s identity. Chemical changes turn
the matter into a new kind of matter with
different properties. For example, when
paper is burnt, it becomes ash and will
never be paper again. The difference
between them is that physical changes are
temporary or only last for a little while, and
chemical changes are permanent, which
means they last forever. Physical and
chemical changes both affect the state of
matter.
Is the text an example of Comparison and Yes, sir.
Contrast?

What are the comparison and contrasts in -Both chemical and physical changes
the text? affect the state of matter.
- The difference between them is that
physical changes are temporary or only
last for a little while, and chemical
changes are permanent, which means
they last forever.

c. The chosen student will answer a
question.

Chimpanzees and humans are alike in

many ways. A baby chimp laughs when its
mother tickles it. After chimpanzees fight,
they kiss and make up. When one
chimpanzee comforts another, it gives it a
hug or pat on the back. There are, of
course, many ways that chimpanzees and
humans are different. Chimpanzees are
smaller and stronger than humans. An
adult male chimpanzee stands three or four
feet tall and weighs about 100 pounds. But
a chimpanzee can lift more weight than a
man who is six feet tall.
