PC SOFTWARE VERSION AND COMPATABILITY WITH MODULE

VERSION

The current version of the DSE PC software is always compatible with all previous versions of
module. This backwards compatibility of the PC software is very important as it means you don’t
need to maintain old PC software versions to support older module versions.

The PC software version is found under About in the software.

Major version Build number

This is the important number. This is a number for DSE internal

Version 2.xx software is compatible with all tracking of software builds only.
modules version 1.xx to version 2.xx.
PC software version 2.xx is not compatible
with modules from V3.00 upwards.
Minor version
This number tracks minor changes
and additions to the PC software.
Changes to this number do not
affect overall compatibility with the
modules however additional
functions may be added to the
software and tracked using higher
values of the minor version.
For example. V2.5a software is still
compatible with V2.4 modules,
however the new feature of V2.5
software cannot be used with the
V2.4 module.
