THE CAUSES AND EFFECTS OF CYBER BULLYING

Most of the people knows that bullying is wrong and it has absolutely no beneficial purpose.
Moreover, calling other people names, discriminating them and hitting someone may makes a bully feel
good at a moment. But without them realizing it, while they are feeling satisfied, the said people that
they are victimizing are slowly being engulfed with depression and in severe cases, it leads to suicide .

Cyber bullying is also referred as a form of bullying that is known as a kind of action that harass,
threaten, target embarrass and bully others through the use of electronics such as mobile phones and
internet. Furthermore, social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter are among many others, chat,
text messages as well as websites are avenues through which cyber bully can take place. Cyber bullying is
a problem that is considered as one of the most alarming issue in our society. It is to be noted that cyber
bullying is often between kids, teens, or even, pre teens and it has become quite a common social place
menace among young people.

According to my research 3 out of 10 adolescents and teens have been bullied repeatedly
through their cellphones or posts on social media like embarrassing photos, rumors and even videos of
the said person. This form of bullying is very damaging and has cause negative impacts on the life of the
victims and therefore, should be dealt accordingly by the relevant stakeholders who include parents,
teachers, or guardian as well as the government. Cyber bullying can take place either day and night. This
trait of cyber bullying makes it quite difficult for parents to monitor their children. In main cases, cyber
bullying can easily distribute messages and pictures which could be done anonymously and can easily
reach large number of people in a short period of time.

Usually there are many causes which have been identified that result in cyber bullying among
kids. One of the causes is the motivation for revenge. Some of the bullies are victims in the past and
therefore want to do 0the same to the others. The second cause of cyber bullying is the belief by other
kids that the victim deserves to be bullied. Lastly, Some people also do this because they want to get
noticed, they like having power over others, they think it's cool and funny, they are bored, they feel
jealous and lack of adult guidance.

Finally, It is to be noted that children that experience cyber bullying will tend to experience
health complications and problems. It has quite a long lasting impact on the targeted victims. Some of
the negative impacts, includes low self confidence, suicidal thoughts, frequent crying, abnormal fear,
depression and sleep disorder. When the kid is a victim of cyber bullying, they become frustrated. This
results in the use of drugs and alcohol. The performance of the bullied kid will also be affected. They
might skip schools hence their academic grades tends to drop as they will lack interest in their studies.

In conclusion, cyber bullying has become one of the most commited criminal acts among young
people and kids. However due to the continued technological developments, it has become quite a
challenge to handle the issue of cyber bullying. So inorder to avoid this, you need to raise your alertness
and don't give out passwords and anything personal. Always remember that bullying is not good and
should be stop. We're not perfect to judge another person. We should respect their privacy and stop
being judgemental because all of us can make mistake. They're humans so they feel hurt to, all we could
do is help them and cheer up those people who had experience bullying.
