1. Scope

This is applicable to modification as requested by customers.

2. Purpose

This procedure is main for the modification of tooling based on internal or


customer requirements and test run prior to mass production.

3. Responsibilities

Engineering Department, QC Department, Injection Production Department,


PPC Department, and Tooling Dept. are jointly responsible for reviewing cost
of modification, cut off stock part before and after repair or modification,
tooling verification (after modification), and. ensure customer schedule is
fulfilled prior to mass production, in achieving customer requirements.

4. Procedure

4. 1 Internal Mold Repair Requisition

Internal Requisition

Once mold already started production, and production experiencing


problem related to mold (e.g. ejector jammed, ejector pin broken,
etc.), Injection Production Dept. shall issue Request Repair Form
(after QC confirmation) to Tooling Section.

QC will determine if the mold repairing condition will have any impact
to product critical dimension.
(a) If yes - QC will inform customer.
(b) Otherwise, just proceed.

Tooling Section will check the problem of mold and determine


repairing lead time and the impact during production running.

Injection Production submit the Repair Request Form to PPC to


confirm any impact to customer schedule.

Mold Repairing & Verification

After confirmation from PPC, then mold can be down for repair based
on lead time and Tooling section shall ensure strict compliance to
agreed schedule.

After mold repairing, Tooling Sect. will update and inform Injection
Production, and PPC for re-scheduling Up Mold / Run production.

PPC will issue a Mold change list refer to schedule, and Injection
production will up the mold to test run. Injection Production and
Tooling Section, will monitor together the mold condition, with QC
check the parts for acceptance (esp. critical dimensions) before
continuing mass production.

4.2 Customer Requisition for Mold Repair

Customer Requisition for Repair

Customer will request for mold modification / repair, esp. when found
products mot meeting customer requirements. Customer will then
request (email, discussion & etc.) for repair and specific points for
improvement to related dept., such as QC section.

QC will check the requisition, and submit to Tooling Section to review


repair lead time. After Tooling section confirmation, get the
acknowledgement from PPC for scheduling. QC will then liaise with
customer the schedule, and cut off stock before repairing.

Balance Stock Disposition / Clearance

QC will compile information of cut off the part to related section, to


verify all affected stock and update customer to decide the disposition,
such as temporary approval for use (with approved quantity) or scrap,
etc.

Related section will submit the affected stock quantity to PPC, and
PPC will determine the cut off stock, for customer information. Refer
to delivery order from customer.

Mold Repairing & Verification

After getting customer confirmation for repair, QC will inform Tooling


Section to mold repairing.

After completion, Injection Production will arrange the Up-mold.


Before starting mass production running, QC will submit samples to
customer get the approval from customer, after customer judge OK
mold can starting production. Otherwise, repeat until accepted,

Sales / Marketing Dept. receives customer requisition for modification


of mold, and will pass this information to Engineering Dept. (this may
be due to impact from product design product, etc.). Engineering
Dept. will check with Tooling section, the modification point and
modification schedule.

Tooling section determines modification area and lead time, then pass
this information to Sales/Marketing Dept. and Engineering Dept.
Sales/Marketing Dept. will then inform customer for cost and lead
time. After approval of the quotation from customer, the modification
of mold will start (with info rom Sales / Marketing Dept.)

Mold Modification & Verification

Tooling section start the modification. After finish mold repairing,


Tooling section inform to Engineering Dept. for arranging mold trial.

PPC will issue a mold change list to Injection production, Tooling


section, and Engineering Dept. to trial the mold after modification.

Before start mass production, Engineering Dept. shall submit the part
after modification to customer. Customer will check the part/product
after modification. After getting confirmation & approval from
customer, mold can starting to mass production.

ECN

Engineering Dept. will raise ECN to all related Dept. cut off the old
stock before modification and discussion with customer for cut off
stock part.
