PRESS RELEASE

The Commissioner Secretary, Labour and Employment Department, J&K

Govt., Mr. Saurabh Bhagat (IAS) convened a review meeting of the Department
in which the Deputy Labour Commissioner, Jammu, Shahnaz Akhter (KAS)
along with District Officers of the Department of Labour, Provident Fund and
E.S.I were present. While reviewing the progress of the Department of Labour
under various Labour Laws/Legislations, the Commissioner Secretary
impressed upon the Assistant Labour Commissioners to dispose of the court
cases/complaints received at the earliest and do not let the people suffer. The
Commissioner Secretary also discussed about the preparedness of the
Department for upcoming committee of Senior Officers of Government of India
to take call on provident fund and E.S.I related issues due to the change of
status of J&K to Union Territory.
