OBJECTIVE

To plan, organize and direct process engineering activities and initiatives, utilizing my process
engineering experiences with developed abilities in project/task management and problem
solving. Through astute leadership this will contribute to operations sustainability, reliability and
profitability.

QUALIFICATIONS

Extensive process engineering experience in leading and executing projects mainly in the
petrochemical industry and related oil and gas industry. Achieved success through:

➢ Communicating effectively with both technical and non technical individuals

➢ Engineering problem/issue identification, root cause and alternative solutions
analysis and decisive action to bring resolution
➢ Project/task/resource planning, organizing and execution to optimize productivity and
meet deadlines/budgetary objectives.
➢ Providing people leadership through team building, training and motivating the team
to work in unison towards desired goals/objectives
➢ Persuasive communication in the selling of ideas/solutions and gaining “buy in”
➢ Building strong working relationships through diplomacy to gain people’s trust/co-
operation
➢ Flexibility to initiate and manage change for organization betterment
➢ Mentoring junior personnel including the development of training modules as aids for
their development

SELECTED ACHIEVEMENTS

Convinced senior operations personnel to increase natural gas throughput to put out fires in
a catalyst reduction temperature run away situation and averted destruction of the catalyst
reactor and prevented total shut down of the plant and plant losses to the tune of millions of
USD.

Conceptualized and implemented a solution to recover contaminated process condensate,

averting a water shortfall that threatened the ability of the plant to produce – the project was
completed within budget.

Strategically determined the root cause of failure of a heat exchanger by ensuring and
completing the purchase of an adequate replacement which increased the plant production
levels and avoided further costly unscheduled plant shut downs.

Instigated and completed a study to revamp ammonia storage facilities which revealed
substantial ammonia losses and reconciled payment of fines due to the sale of “hot” ammonia.

Examined and studied plant experiences to prevent use of a Pre-reformer in a plant upgrade
study which later proved too risky and was aborted.

Developed on call coordinating system which secured plant operations on a 24/7 basis and
led to an improvement of on stream time factor or KPI for the three plant site.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Position Company Location Year-Year

Process ColtEng Corp., a division Sarnia, Ontario 2008-2009

Specialist of WorleyParsons Canada Canada

Analyzed and made changes to PIDs, PFDs, LDTs, Equipment Data Sheets, as well as filled
instrumentation lists for the Edmonton Corefco Project in 2008 (an upgrade of 18 Plant Units
used to produce cobalt and nickel with solid fertilizer as a byproduct from ore coming out of the
Caribbean island of Cuba).

Revised drawings, reviewed technical reports and leveraged expertise in engineering systems
and procedures for major Sarnia refinery projects to champion increased efficiency and safety
as it relates to equipment emissions and feedstock impurities, such as sulfur content in oil
sources.

Researched brown field projects in the Sarnia Shell and Suncor industries, developing Basis of
Design and Calculation sheets documentation; reviewed drawings, vendor documentation and
safeguarding drawings as a checker; and completed HAZOP recommendations as required.

Senior Process WorleyParsons Trinidad Port-of-Spain 2006-2008

Engineer Limited Trinidad W.I.

Provided process engineering support to the Structural Lead Engineer on a British Gas, Gas to
Liquids Plant project including completing HAZOP, PID, Line List and isometric drawing checks
to the 2006 Carapal Unit installation in Central Trinidad in the West Indies.

Implemented process for the development of letdown stations spanning flare and pressurized
storage in the main for an island wide natural gas distribution project for The National Gas
Company of Trinidad and Tobago to prevent previous unsafe atmospheric venting of both gas
and liquid hydrocarbons (components of natural gas feed) through existing Pressure Relief
valves and recover heavy hydrocarbon liquids for processing in downstream industries.

Senior Chemical Yara Trinidad Limited Savonetta 1977-2006

/Process Engineer a division of Norsk Hydro Trinidad W.I.
International

Collaborated in weekly meetings as lead process engineer with individual plant production
managers on projects designed to increase production levels and/or plant efficiencies.

As a process engineer, spearheaded the project to recover 450 gallons/minute of water using a
process condensate stripper and recovery unit at the Yara Ammonia Plant in 1997.

Worked towards preventing a risky investment by completing studies to improve plant operation
and uncover an unfeasible equipment add-on in the Tringen 11 (KBR designed) Ammonia Plant
of 1986 vintage (Tringen 11 nameplate capacity is rated at 1500 tonnes per day).

Promptly changed and implemented a revised operations procedure to steer Tringen 1 from a
total shutdown in 1992 as a result of a poor million dollar purchase of an HT Low Temperature
Shift catalyst that almost destroyed the plant when an uncontrolled fire raged in the catalyst bed.

Senior Chemical Yara Trinidad Limited Savonetta 1977-2006
/Process Engineer a division of Norsk Hydro Trinidad W.I.

Organized a Tringen1 Ammonia plant performance study as a single point coordinator where
the energy usage and individual equipment performances were assessed. The result produced
a computerized operations data bank of the plant and the result was used to identify areas of
the plant for improvement during future plant turnarounds.

Completed several smaller projects on time and profitable to the company (projects ranged in
size from $US50K to $US600K).

Worked outside of normal hours as a production on-call coordinator (six week rotation roster) to
keep the plants online and to avoid disastrous operations and/or unscheduled plant shutdowns.
