Position/Job Title: Assistant Manager Merchandising


Department: International Division

Purpose/Key Responsibilities:
 Has ownership for specified brands for which he is responsible for achieving
developments, standards, and costing according to the targets established by
senior management; accountable for key performance indicators.
 Provides leadership and direction to a team of Merchandisers to ensure
Forward products are developed and produced according to customer
specifications and handed over to Production within agreed deadlines.
 Responsible for implementing company strategic direction to support brand
business objectives and product expectations, including support of material
selection and commercialization.
 Ensures accuracy and timeliness through high-level communication and
coordination with customers, internal customers (R&D) and material suppliers
from tech pack receipt to shipment.
 Ensures all customer products/new projects are engineered and developed to
meet targets while ensuring that appropriate product value is maintained and
shipped according to customer requirements.
 Proactive leadership to identify, approve and develop new vendors with the
support of SEA, technical team leaders, and other departments supporting the
vendor base.
 Be category, brand, and division representative to the customers.
Communicate respective vision and strategy.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Development

 Works with teams to identify issues upfront that may prevent product
objectives from being met, including cost targets, quality standards in
construction and materials, ease of manufacture, etc.

 Ensures prototypes address desired function, cosmetics, cost, market appeal
and manufacturability, including checking for quality, size, fit and adherence
to standards.
 Evaluates all prototypes for compliance with AD, pattern, color, materials and
other product spec’s. Able to provide options to the customers.
 Responsible for price negotiations and finalization with customers throughout
the complete development process to work towards a cost optimized product.
 Ensures all materials are developed on time with Material Development.
 Ensures SMS are accurate, complete and shipped timely.
 Works collaboratively with Materials Development, Design Department,
Technical Services, Costing, Product Creation Technology, etc. as necessary to
ensure an on time buy ready/commercialization performance.
 Reviews and signs off on confirmation samples prior to production start to
ensure that product produced meets business expectations.
 Oversees the accurate and timely updates of the data management systems,
where applicable.

Planning & Production

 Ensures that orders and forecasts are passed to Production Team on a timely
basis and that factories are providing required feedback on a regular basis.
Provides direction and support for all production tracking, including
material/fabric confirmation.
 Works with management to implement supply chain initiatives as introduced
by Continuous Improvement, Logistics and others.
 Prepares/analyzes necessary reports and information analysis as required by
senior management and customers.

Organizational Relationships:
 Direct supervisory responsibility for the merchandising team assigned to that
product or Business Unit.
 Collaborative relationship with Technical Services and other departments.
 Ongoing communication and coordination with external as well as internal
customers concerning project.
 Key role in managing and communicating with Production Team.

Requisite Education/Experience:

 Degree in Business, Manufacturing, or Clothing Technology, or equivalent


combination of education and related work experience in the
Footballs/Apparel/Textiles field.
 At least 3-5 years progressive work experience in related field.
 Proven success in manufacturing environment.
 Good negotiation skills and knowledge of business.
 Fluent English (verbally and in writing), other languages are welcome.
 Good IT-/EDP-skills including Excel and Word. Comfortable with learning
internal Product Data Management systems
