1. Introduction

TekSIP is a SIP Registrar/Proxy (Based on RFC 3261) runs under Windows (XP, Vista, 2003 Server).

2. Major features

1. Supports features described in RFC 3261 and ENUM (e164.arpa domain only, ENUM lookup is
performed just for INVITE requests).
2. Logs system messages, errors and session information to a log file.
3. All parameters can be configured through management GUI.
4. Provides NAT traversal between registered SIP UAs. TekSIP also supports UPnP.
5. Supports RADIUS Accounting (RFC 2866).
6. Can optionally act as a B2BUA for incoming 3xx SIP responses.
7. You can define a default SIP route or prefix based routes for particular SIP endpoints for outgoing
calls.
8. You can redirect calls to alternate endpoint when called endpoint is off-line.
9. You can monitor active registrations and SIP calls in real-time.
10. Clears expired registrations automatically.
11. Stores configuration data in the installation directory (.ini file).
12. Quick and easy installation.

3. System Requirements

1. A Windows system with at least 512 MB of RAM.


2. Microsoft.NET Framework v2.0.50727 (Min.)
3. 1 MB of disk space for installation.
4. Administrative privileges.

4. Installing and Uninstalling

 To install TekSIP, extract contents of TekSIP.zip to a temporary directory, run Setup.exe from the
distribution. Uninstall previous version if you upgrade from an earlier version.
 To uninstall TekSIP, double click TekSIP icon at “Add or Remove Programs” from Control Panel.

5. Configuration and running

TekSIP automatically select first available IPv4 address for listening and its corresponding FQDN as SIP domain at
first run.

If you familiar with SIP protocol and used any SIP server before, configuration very simple:

1. Run TekSIP Manager from Start / Program Files / TekSIP Manager.


2. Select IP address to be listened on the settings tab.
3. Optionally define a default SIP route.

4. Logging is optional.
5. Click Save and then Apply to configurations changes take effect.
6. If you like to add SIP endpoints, click Endpoints tab. Click left bottom text box to enter SIP
username, next to password and optionally select an endpoint to redirect calls when this endpoint is off-line
then “Add/Update” button.

6. Release Notes

 This freeware version allows maximum 5 SIP endpoints registration and 5 simultaneous SIP sessions
(Calls).
 Endpoint definitions and routing table are stored in TekSIP.mdb.
 If you change or remove listened IP address in your Windows Network configuration, TekSIP
automatically selects first available IPv4 address in your network settings.
 You may need to re-start TekSIP after first run if TekSIP is located behind a UPnP supported NAT
gateway.
