Q4) Determine the end moments of each member in the frame and then draw the moment diagram by
using the Slope Deflection Method. Assume the supports at A, C, and E are pins. EI is constant.

Q5) Use slope deflection method and compute the support reactions, the tip deflection at point G and
the vertical deflection at point D. Assume that all members are axially rigid and have the same and
constant EI. Draw the deflected shape of the structure in an approximate fashion, as well.

Q6) Given structure is composed of frame members with same EI, and axially rigid members.
Determine all support reactions by using slope deflection method. Draw the deflected shape of the
structure in an approximate fashion, as well.
Q7) Given structure has constant EI = 15×103 kN-m2 and axially rigid members. Besides 15 kN/m
distributed load acting on ABCD, there is a support settlement at F by an amount of 1 cm taking down
the rest of the structure with it. Use slope deflection method to analyze given structure, and then plot
axial force, shear force and bending moment diagrams. Draw the deflected shape of the structure in an
approximate fashion, as well.

Note: All frame members are axially rigid.

Q8) Axially rigid beam AB has E = 200 GPa and I = 5×10-5 m4, and the truss members BC has E = 200 GPa and
A = 5×10-5 m2. Use slope deflection method and determine the support reactions at A and the truss member
force under the action of 10 kN force acting at B.
Q9) Given structure is composed of rigidly connected frame members AB, BC, CD and CE that are axially rigid
and with constant EI = 3000 kN-m2. Analysis of the structure (with degrees of freedom shown in below figure)
results in

D1 = 8.366×10-3 m; D2 = -7.231×10-3 rad; D3 = 3.787×10-3 rad

Calculate all support reactions and check for global equilibrium of the structure.
