1 Introduction
The ZXSDR BS8900A (hereafter BS8900A) is an outdoor cabinet solution recommended
for ZTE SDR wireless products .It is a multi-mode outdoor BBU, which is based on ZTE
SDR platform. It can support GSM/UMTS/LTE/TD-SCDMA single-mode or multi-mode
by upgrading software, to adapt to operators’ low cost strategy of long term evolution.
The BS8900A can be set up to deal with such scenarios as an environment without an
equipment room or with an equipment room environment that cannot meet the typical
requirements. Its front cable routing meets the requirement of leaning against a wall
installation, which is convenient for maintenance and installation.
Figure 1-1 shows the position of the BS8900A in the TD-LTE network.
The BS8900A usually includes two cabinets: one is the equipment cabinet - ZXSDR
BC8910A (hereafter referred to as BC8910A) and the other is battery cabinet - PC8910A,
which has the same dimensions and can be overlaid by each other or placed side by side
for operators to choose for best fit of their own application scenarios.
The BC8910A is an equipment cabinet. It can be embedded with the following units:
Baseband Unit, heat exchanger, optional heater, AC/DC unit, environmental monitoring
unit, and power distribution unit. In addition, it provides a spare space for housing other
devices.
The PC8910A is a battery cabinet. It can be embedded with the following units:
connection box, storage battery and FAN.
2 System Architecture
The BS8900A adopts standard 19 inches rack structure and has two configurations:
When configuration 2 is adopted, the two cabinets can be overlaid by each other or
placed side by side
The BC8910A cabinet is the auxiliary outdoor cabinet of the ZXSDR B8200. Figure 2-1
shows the outer view of the BC8910A, and the dimensions of the BC8910A are 800mm x
600mm x 600mm (H x W x D).
Figure 2-2 shows the outer view of the PC8910A and the dimensions of the PC8910A are
800mm x 600mm x 600mm (H x W x D).

The BC8910A cabinet is designed with intelligent temperature control and can be
equipped with optional heating films to adapt to chilly areas, as shown in Figure 2-9. It
can be used in a temperature environment ranging from -40°C to +55°C.
3 Technical Specifications
3.1 Dimensions
Weight of the BC8910A is less than 102 kg (equipped with AC power but with no battery
and transmission equipment).

4 Application Scenarios
The BS8900A has two application modes:
BC8910A
BC8910A+PC8910A
When Application Mode 2 is adopted, the two cabinets can be overlaid by each other or
placed side by side
Figure 4-1 shows only one cabinet BC8910A is installed without battery requirements.
Figure 4-2 shows the two cabinets BC8910A and PC8910A is installed overlaid.
Figure 4-3 shows the two cabinets of BC8910A and PC8910A are installed side by side.
5 Networking
The BS8900A provides the S1 interface to connect the EPC and baseband interface to
connect the RRU. For the S1/X2 interface, the BS8900A provides GE and supports all-IP
transmission. For the baseband interface, the BS8900A provides the OBRI optical
interface with the rate of 2.4576/4.9152 Gbps.
The networking mode between the BS8900A and the RRU is star style.
