and Police Contributing Countries' Financial Management Workshop opened on

shrinking resources.
While opening the three-day meeting, the Head of AMISOM and Special
Representative of the Chairperson of the AU Commission (SRCC) for Somalia,
Ambassador Francisco Madeira, expressed gratitude to AMISOM’s partners,
especially the United Nations and European Union for logistical and financial support
to AMISOM.
He also hailed the AMISOM troops for maintaining the tempo of operations and
activities, such as securing the main supply routes and the continued liberation of
territories from terrorists in line with the Somalia Transition Plan.

conditions-based transition for the transfer of security responsibilities from ourselves
to the Somalia Security Forces. This effort will require us to maximise, use, and value

advised Ambassador Madeira.
