EXPERIMENT – 1:

Aim: To draft the problem statement of the online recruitment system.

Modules and Functionalities:


Login Module:
This module will provide the login and logout functionality.
This functionality will be accessed by all the stakeholders. User has to enter the username and
password which will be validated to give access to different functionalities as per the user’s
role.
Also, an option for forgot password will be given in case the user forgets his/her password. User
will be sent an OTP for verification using which he can change the password.
After logging in, a logout option should be there to successfully redirect the user out of the
software and saving all his changes.
Registration Module:
This will provide the signup and registering account functionality
This functionality will be available for stakeholders to register themselves in the database by
providing a username and a password of their account. After registration, one can login into the
application.
Profile Module:
This module will provide the functionality to edit, update and view profile.
This functionality will only be for students, company and placement coordinators. Using this
functionality, one can update changes in the profile details respectively in the database.
Placement-coordinators and company users can also view profiles of other students and Admin
will have the permission to edit or view any profile.

Update placement status:


This functionality will only be for placement coordinators. Using this functionality, placement
coordinators can update placement status of students in the database.
Job Management Module:
This module consists of basic two features: Apply for a Job and Post Job.
Apply for a job will only be for students. Using this functionality, students can apply for the jobs
provided on the portal.
Post Job functionality will only be for company users and placement coordinators. Using this
functionality, we can add details of new jobs for students on portal.
Manage placement coordinators:
This functionality will only be for admin. Using this functionality, we can add or delete details of
new placement coordinators.
Alert and Reminder Module:
This module is responsible for sending reminders, alerts or other details to the student.
This functionality will only be for admin, company users and placement coordinators. Using this
functionality, company can send mail to selected students.
Also, placement-coordinators can send messages or reminders to other students in the portal
about any details or information.
User Account Management:
This functionality will be provided only to the administrator. Administrator will have the
permission to add or remove users from the database.
Test Management Module:
This module is responsible for managing dates and timings for test or interviews for students to
avoid clashes among them.
This functionality will be available to placement-coordinators. This will provide details about
tests/interviews pending and number students appearing for a test/interview. It will also
provide a facility to set date for any upcoming tests.
Database:
Student database:
A database of all the students would be maintained. It should contain the student id, name,
address, contact number and their placement status. This database can only be accessed by
admin, system users.
Company database:
A database for the companies would be maintained. It would contain the name of the
company, its contact number, its location. This database can be accessed and modified only by
the Admin and company users.
HR database:
Each company would have its own database of its HR. It would include their id, name, address
and phone number.
A combined database of HRs of all the companies would also be there which can be accessed by
the Admin and system users.
Placement Coordinators database:
A database of all the students would be maintained. It should contain the placement
coordinators’ id, name, address, contact number. This database can only be accessed by admin,
system users.
Portal Database:
A database of all the jobs registered in the portal will be maintained. This database contains of
job id, profile, company name, and last date of registration. This database can be accessed by
admin, system users and placement coordinators.
Job Database:
A database of students who have applied for any jobs will be maintained. It is a database
consisting of student id, student name, job id and the job status of the student. This database
can be accessed by admin, system users and placement coordinators.

Problem Statement:
The purpose of Online Recruitment System is to automate the existing manual system by the
help of computerized equipment and full-fledged computer software. It is used for managing
the information of company, college, students, placements and vacancies with easy accessing
and manipulation of the same. It is designed for a user-friendly, error-free, secure, reliable and
fast management system. It can assist the user to concentrate on their other activities rather to
concentrate on the record keeping and thus help in better utilization of resources.
The main purpose of the project is better management of data for good performance and
better services for the clients. It provides searching and shortlisting facilities on various factors
on jobs and students. It deals with monitoring and tracking of information on transactions of
student. Editing, adding and deleting data and records is user-friendly and fast for respective
stakeholders. The records will be stored in optimized manner so that one need not to be
distracted with irrelevant data.

The Campus Recruitment system Project in is developed to work at college or university. The
College or University allowed to company for register in this system and help to get student
easily as per their qualification and requirements. This project manages all the details of for
college students, various companies visiting the campus for recruitment and even the college
placement officer. The system can help to allow the students easily create their profile and
upload all their details including their marks and qualification. In this system student can
register online instead of going to placement department for registration.
