1 Target / Purpose
This short reference provides you with the information you need to select and configure
products from the Lenze E-catalogue and to make offer inquiries to your Lenze sales
office.

2 Offer inquiries for configurable products in seven steps

For configurable products, the steps in the preparation of offers are included in the
fields of product selection / search, product configuration, and shopping cart.
If the desired product is not configurable, please directly begin with Step 5: Transfer the
product / results of configuration into the shopping cart.
Note: The configuration of accessories differs from the configuration of products in
many aspects and is not explicitly described here.

2.1 Product selection

The product selection is the pre-stage and available for the majority of the Lenze
products (as of 04/2010). The products from the fields of I/O systems as well as
visualisation, operation / observation, and HMI are not configurable at the moment.
However, you can store these products in the shopping cart and make offer inquiries,
too.

2.2 Step 1: Call the desired product group in the E-catalogue

The E-catalogue menu item of the Lenze internet presence also provides multilingual
references. These references can be used to directly go to the product category pages of
the (configurable) products. The product selection will be available as soon as the
icon is displayed on the right side of the window. Click the icon to start the product
selection dialog.
Note: The example below shows that the product selection is not yet available with the
servo drives. Select a lower-level product page / product family page in the navigation
on the left side of the window, e.g. the Servo Drives 9400, to be able to start the
product selection.

2.3 Step 2: Execute product selection and start product search

After clicking the icon, the product selection dialog opens. Enter the desired values
into the input masks of the tabs by clicking the name of the tab (see Illustration 3). In
this example, the tabs are named "Complete drive" and "Axis module, separate".

Illustration 3: Product selection - entering the selection criteria for the product search

Please bear in mind that the search results of the product selection are restricted by
entering search criteria. Input fields with a red asterisk are mandatory, all other entries
are optional. Click the icon to start the product search.

Illustration 4: Product selection - product search results

Depending on the selection criteria, a list of results including one or more or no products
at all is shown. Our example provides an unambiguous result (see Illustration 4). If your
list does not include any products at all, you should correct and expand your selection
criteria.

2.4 Step 3: Select product and start product configuration

Click the button of the desired product to transfer the product into the product
configuration.
Note: You may have to scroll to the right in your browser to be able to see the rightmost
side of the list of search results as well as the button.

2.5 Product configuration

Illustration 5: Product configuration – "Basic unit" dialog

2.6 Step 4: Execution of the product configuration

Use the selection menus to select predefined values. If you do not enter any values, the
system will enter standard values as far as possible. Click the button to confirm your
acceptance of standard values. With this, the input field turns into a text output. Click
the button to turn the text output into an input field again and to adapt the value
(see Illustration 6).
Note: The set values can be seen and checked in the "Results of configuration" tab later
(see Illustration 7).

Click the button to change to the next dialog window. Our example first takes you to
the "Slots" dialog and then to the results of configuration tab.

2.7 Step 5: Transfer the product / results of configuration into the

shopping cart

Either click the icon or the icon to transfer the configured product from the
results of configuration into the shopping cart (see Illustration 7). Now the product
configuration is complete.
Note: After the configured product has been transferred into the shopping cart, the
configuration can be saved for later editing.

Alternatively, click to transfer products which cannot be configured from the

E-catalogue into the shopping cart and make an offer inquiry.

2.8 Shopping cart

As soon as your shopping cart contains at least one product, you can save your shopping
cart or make an offer inquiry. Configured products as well as non-configured standard
products can be added to the shopping cart as described above.
Alternatively, the configurable products of a previously created and stored shopping cart
can be loaded for later editing.
Note: Due to the now higher E-catalogue version, it is no longer possible to load and
configure products of shopping carts which had been saved under the previous version.
The reason for this are internal changes to the data model of the products which make
it impossible to transfer previous data. The version of the E-catalogue can be seen from
the title graphics on the welcome page http://dsc.lenze.de/dsc/. The current version is
V. 2.3.1 (April/2010). The version generally changes twice a year.

2.9 Step 6: Add items to your shopping cart

Configure other products if required and add them to your shopping cart.
Tip: If you wish to request different variants of a product, duplicate the corresponding
shopping cart item and start the product configurations of the copy / copies from the
details of the shopping cart (see Illustration 8).
Click the designation of the shopping cart item to open the details for the configured
product (see Illustration 9).
Note: Store the shopping cart to one of the drives on a regular basis to back up your
work result. Please observe that the E-catalogue will discard your selections after an idle
time of 15 min. Your configured products and your shopping cart will be irrecoverable if
you do not save your shopping cart in time.

the customer data tab to enter your customer data.

The fields with a red asterisk are mandatory. All mandatory fields must be filled in to
complete this mask. The button will be deactivated as long as the entries are still
incomplete. Click to go to the final offer inquiry dialog as soon as all entries are
correct.

2.10 Step 7: Shipment of the shopping cart / offer inquiry

All information is optional in this tab. Please use these parameters to create an ideal
offer inquiry for further use.

When you have added items to the shopping cart and filled in the mandatory fields of
the customer data tab, the shopping cart is ready to be submitted. The submission of
the shopping cart results in an offer inquiry to the Lenze sales office. Use the button
for this purpose (see Illustration 11). A copy of the offer inquiry will be sent to you by
e-mail. Attached please also find the generated text / PDF document and the shopping
cart.
If the shopping cart does not contain any items at all or if the customer data are
incomplete, the button will be deactivated. In this case, correct your customer data
and call the "Offer inquiry" tab once again.

2.11 Optional step: Do not submit but download offer inquiry

It is also possible to generate an offer inquiry and not submit it to the Lenze sales office.
Click the button in the "Offer inquiry" tab for this purpose. As in the case of offer
inquiries, the button will be deactivated if the information you provide is
incomplete.
After clicking the button, a browser window will open. The text / PDF document can
immediately be opened, stored or discarded.
