Management team

Bringing all business functions together into a unified whole, and integrating them with the
clinical activities of the pharmacy is a complex process. It requires a focused, organized effort that
can be sustained over the long term. This is what “managing” a pharmacy is all about: bringing
together all of the resources available and uniting them in such a way that, collectively, they achieve
the goals of the pharmacy in the most efficient manner possible. Happy and efficient employees mean
a happy and efficient business. This is pharmacy’s motto and we understand the importance of
conveying it to every customer for our business to flourish. All our staff is fully trained within their
departments. Our business structure is one defining factor that will tell if we will be successful
in the business or not. We will make sure that our structuring will be done with utmost care
so as to make sure we get the best out of the business. Based on the CV submitted by our
prospective staffs and their customer relationship test, our recruitment process will be looking
to fill few positions.
The management team of the Hypocrates Pharmacy is going to consist from
experienced members of staff. Each member has a specific job in which they bring a different
level of experience and skills. Our team has an extremely beneficial Chief Executive Officer
– CEO, which the main responsibility is to provide positive direction for the business. This
position is represented by Paul Mc Carthy, who has wide experience in pharmaceutical
healthcare sector for over 20 years. Main tasks in which CEO is engaged is working with
recruitment, signing documents on behalf of whole business and creating overall company’s
direction and strategy.
Another member of our management team is the Pharmacist. In consumer polls, the
pharmacist consistently has been rated among the most, if not the most, respected
professional. This position is represented by two qualified pharmacist with a large experience
in Ireland and United Kingdom. The pharmacist is responsible for Inform patients about
medication usages including dosages and administration procedures. Address patient queries
and concerns professionally. Monitor inventory status and accordingly order and stock
medications in the pharmacy.
As well, in our pharmacy will activate pharmacy technician, which will be engaged to
Receiving and confirming prescription orders, as well to prepare and fill prescriptions.
Pharmacy technician will handle administrative and booking tasks, inventory control,
stocking shelves and handling other duties as assigned by the pharmacist.
Over the counter assistants, as well known as pharmacy assistants, will have main
jobs to maintain shop presentation, manage stock rotations and stock flow, order and
booking-in stock on EPOS till system and dealing with stock shortages and breakages.

Operations

Revenue sources for Hypocrates pharmacy will be a combination of sales for products
and services. A variety of products will be offered, including but not limited to prescription
medication, OTC medications, cosmetics and other convenience items. Other services will
include immunizations, medication therapy management, and a variety of other pilot
programs to be developed and integrated into the available clinical services be available to
order. As well, there will be offered a variety of clinical services within the pharmacy setting,
such as immunizations, new medication counselling, and other services will be promoted as
an integral element to our approach to a happy and healthy community.
The pharmacy will operate Mon to Fri 8am-8pm, Sat 9am-7pm, Sun 10am-5pm. It is
located in a busy part of the village just few minutes away from city centre and residential
area, therefore the access is well assured. The pharmacy will run 7 days a week and this is
very food starting point . A strong key point for the competitive market is that the pharmacy
will operate during bank holiday and other national holidays during the year. Thus customers
will have opportunity to access the services in case of emergency despite of holiday.
The pharmacy has a spacious consultation room, which comply the necessary equipment for
assessing patient’s overall health.

The pharmacy operates the MPS dispensing and retails system.

Financial plan
Start – up costs of the business have been calculated to be roughly nearly 250,000
euro. This consists of 50,000 euro for the site design, 100,000 euro to outsource development
of the site and maintenance of the pharmacy. The rest is to be used for the growth of the
company. In the first year of activity, it is planned to pay salaries in the sum of 40,000 euro,
which is expected to be at a lower rate than for the next years, in order to ensure expected
guaranteed profit rate. Employee wages in a retail pharmacy make up about 10% of annual
sales, therefore 10 times total wages approximates annual sales.
The Government is expected to create in the coming year new incentives and
subsidies in order to assist in the development of the new community pharmacy openings.
This way, we are planning to use any of the start up grants offered by the state, therefore to
ensure and expect positive trends for the new pharmacy business setting.
Materials are expected to be low, in a web based company, which does not have
manufacturing. General and administrative sums of money are going to be used company
activities, which are expected to be used in smaller amounts for an organization with few
employees. It is expected to get increased marketing expenditures in the first year of activity.
For the next years, the expenses will include marketing brochures, promotional material,
