As the water waves approach the coastline, they bend according to the shape of the coastline.
Why this happens?
Apabila gelombang air menghampiri tepi pantai, gelombang air bengkok mengikut bentuk
tepi pantai. Mengapakah ini berlaku?

Therefore, you are required to conduct an experiment to study the refraction pattern of water
wave. Then you are required to prepare the report of experiment which has:
Dengan itu, anda dikehendaki menjalankan satu eksperimen untuk mengkaji corak

Aim: To observe the pattern of refraction of water wave.
Tujuan: Untuk memerhati corak pembiasan gelombang. √

List of apparatus and material: Ripple tank, white paper, glass plate, power supply, motor,
water and stroboscope.
Senarai radas dan bahan:tangka riak, kertas putih, plat kaca, bekalan kuasa, motor, air dan
stroboskop.

Prosedur:
1. A trapezium glass plate is immersed into the water in the ripple tank.
Satu plat kaca berbentuk trapezium ditenggelamkan dalam air pada tangka riak.
2. The motor is switched on so that the wooden bar produces water waves.
Motor dihidupkan supaya bar kayu menghasilkan gelombang air.
3. The water waves are freezed by using a stroboscope.
Gelombang air dipegunkan dengan menggunakan sebuah stroboskop.
4. The wave pattern after passing through the trapezium glass plate is observed and drawn.
Corak gelombang selepas melalui plat kaca trapezium diperhatikan dan dilukiskan.

5. The trapezium glass plate is replaced by a triangle glass plate.
Plat kaca trapezium digantikan dengan satu plat kaca berbentuk segitiga.
6. The wave pattern after passing through the triangle glass plate is observed and drawn.
Corak gelombang selepas melalui plat kaca segitiga diperhatikan dan dilukiskan. √

When the water wave propagates from deep water into shallow water, the speed of water
wave decreases.
Apabila gelombang air merambat dari kawasan dalam ke kawasan cetek, laju gelombang air
berkurang.
