A. QUESTIONS OR PROBLEMS BEING ADDRESED

One of the current problem in our country is the increase of waste. Commonly the
plastic wastes and some are thrown away dried patola (Luffa) fruit.
We’re seeing some other worrying trends. Since the 1950s, the rate of plastic
production has grown faster than that of any other material. We’ve also seen a shift away
from the production of durable plastic, and towards plastics that are meant to be thrown
away after a single use.
Some of the researchers used plastic waste plastics on their studies which is
malleable and so can be molded into solid objects.
Cork boards are one of one of the most useful items you can purchase for your home
or office. We use them above our desk, in board spaces.
Some cork board have a low quality so it can be damaged in a short period of time.
Also the commercial cork board are more expensive.

Using Polyethylene plastic, Dried patola (Luffa) and sawdust as alternative cork
board is unique because it eco friendly, it less toxic to human and also to animals, and it is
inexpensive. Our environment can benefit in this study because it can reduce our trash or
waste like recycling the thrown away dried patola fruit.
B. GOAL/ EXPECTED OUTCOMES/ HYPHOTHESIS

 To make a homemade floor mat out of the blend of Polyethylene plastic Dried patola
(Luffa) and sawdust as alternative cork board
 To find out the hardeness, and the length of time the homemade cork board dry.
 To determine its effectiveness ascompared to commercialized floor mat.
 To measure the amount of Polyethylene plastic, dried luffa fruit, and sawdust needed
for the homemade floor mat and the time use to finish the product

C. MATERIAL AND METHOD

C.1 Experimantal Design

Independent variable: amount dried patola and Polyethylene plastic
Dependent variable: amount of cork board
Controlled variable: sawdust, Gawgaw

C.2 Materials and Equipments

 5 dried partola (Luffa) fruit
 ½ kilo Polyethylene plastic
 ½ kilo of sawdust
 Sciscor
 Gawgaw
 Moulder
 Blender

C.3 Procedure

A. Preparation of the treatment

 Gather the materials
 Wear gloves
 Prepare in making the set-up

B. Preparation of the set-up

 Peel the dried patula fruit
 Put it in the blender
 Cut the Polyethylene plastic into pieces
C.Application of the treatment
 Get the blend dried patola fruit from the blender and put it in the moulder
 Put together the blend dried patola fruit, cutted Polyethylene plasti, and the sawdust in moulder
 Fill the prepared gawgaw in the moulder
 Press the unfinished product
 Let it dry
 Label the product
C.4 Data to be gathered
