BIOGRAFIA DE PEDRO PABLO KUCZYNSKI

Pedro Pablo Kuczynski, nació en Lima el 3 de octubre de 1938. Es hijo de inmigrantes que, por vocación social,
decidieron residir en el Perú. Su padre Maxime Kuczynski fue un médico alemán, y su madre Madeleine Godard
ejerció la docencia en escuelas públicas.
Durante su infancia vivió en Iquitos y Puno. Cursó estudios básicos en colegios de Perú e Inglaterra. Domina los
idiomas español, inglés, francés, y alemán.
Obtuvo una beca para estudiar Filosofía, Economía y Política en la Universidad de Oxford (Reino Unido).
Posteriormente, realizó un postgrado en Economía en la Escuela Woodrow.
Al culminar sus estudios, ingresó a trabajar al Banco Mundial, convirtiéndose en el trabajador más joven de esta
entidad. Además, ha sido funcionario del Fondo Monetario Internacional (FMI) y Presidente de varias comisiones
del Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo (BID), entre otras instituciones públicas y privadas en el país y el extranjero.
En 1962 se casó con Jane Dudley Casey, hija de Joseph Edward Casey, quien fue miembro de la Cámara de
Representantes de los Estados Unidos por Massachusetts. Tuvo tres hijos: Carolina Madeleine, Alexandra Louise y
John-Michael Kuczynski. Pedro Pablo y su esposa se separaron en 1992 y se divorciaron en 1995.En 1997, se casó
con Nancy Lange, con quien tiene una hija llamada Suzanne Lange Kuczynski.
En el Estado Peruano ha desempeñado los siguientes cargos: Gerente del Banco Central de Reserva del Perú (1961-
1969), Ministro de Energía y Minas (1980-1982), Ministro de Economía y Finanzas (2001-2002) y (2004-2005), así
como Presidente del Consejo de Ministros (2005-2006).Es autor de varios libros y artículos de Economía, referidos
al contexto peruano y latinoamericano.
En junio de 2016 fue elegido Presidente de la República por votación popular para un mandato de cinco años, y
juramentó el cargo el 28 de julio del mismo año.

Pedro Pablo Kuczynski, was born in Lima on October 3, 1938. He is the son of immigrants who, by social vocation,
decided to reside in Peru. His father Maxime Kuczynski was a German physician, and his mother Madeleine Godard
was teaching in public schools.
During his childhood he lived in Iquitos and Puno. He studied basic schools in Peru and England. She speaks
Spanish, English, French, and German.
He obtained a scholarship to study Philosophy, Economics and Politics at the University of Oxford (United
Kingdom). He later completed a postgraduate degree in Economics at Woodrow School.
After completing his studies, he joined the World Bank, becoming the youngest worker in this entity. In addition, he
has been an official of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and President of several commissions of the Inter-
American Development Bank (IDB), among other public and private institutions in the country and abroad.
In 1962 he married Jane Dudley Casey, daughter of Joseph Edward Casey, who was a member of the United States
House of Representatives for Massachusetts. He had three children: Carolina Madeleine, Alexandra Louise and
John-Michael Kuczynski. Pedro Pablo and his wife separated in 1992 and divorced in 1995. In 1997, he married
Nancy Lange, with whom he has a daughter named Suzanne Lange Kuczynski.
In the Peruvian State he has held the following positions: Manager of the Central Reserve Bank of Peru (1961-1969),
Minister of Energy and Mines (1980-1982), Minister of Economy and Finance (2001-2002) and (2004-2005) ), as
well as President of the Council of Ministers (2005-2006). He is the author of several books and articles on
Economics, referring to the Peruvian and Latin American context.
In June 2016 he was elected President of the Republic by popular vote for a term of five years, and swore the
position on July 28 of that year.
