INTRODUCTION:
Sea turtles are animals with an esti-
mated age of more than 150 million
years.
The turtles symbolize SURVIVAL if
they survive this civilization so advan-
ced in its destructive and egocentric
capacity all other species can also
achieve it.
LIFE CYCLE OF SEA TURTLES:
THE MARINE TURTLES:
Turtles are reptiles, a class of vertebrate
animals that has survived for more than
200 million years, through stable periods
and times of extreme environmental chan-
ges. The reptiles evolved from the amphi-
bians, a class of vertebrates that is still ol-
der and that lives both on land and in fresh
water.
THREATS TO THE SEA TURTLES:
In all the scope of its worldwide distribu-
tion, sea turtles are threatened or in dan-
ger of extinction.
 Natural predators such
as ants, crabs and raccoons
threaten eggs and hatchlings.
 Overexploitation of
sea turtles and looting
of eggs by man.
 Alteration and loss of
habitat due to urban development and
infrastructure that has
occurred in some coas-
tal areas.
 Pollution and marine debris.
 Fisheries and bycatch.
5 THINGS YOU CAN DO TO SAVE SEA
TURTLES:
1. Turn off the lights visible from
the beach.
2. Reduce the amount of garba-
ge you produce and clean the
garbage you see on the beach.
3. Volunteer! Be aware of the sea
turtle.
4. Nesting areas and avoid nes-
ting and hatching of turtles.
5. Reduce the amount of chemi-
cal products you use.
