1. How can I reset Password of email?


I) URL of email is email.gov.in

II) Click “Forgot Password”

III) In the next window, enter email address and captcha code. Click “Submit”
IV) In the next window, enter random no. received in registered mobile, enter captcha code.
Click “Submit”.

V) In the next window, enter and re-enter password. Enter captcha code and “Submit”.

VI) The password should be min. 8 characters containing at least one Capital Letter, One
Numeric and one special character like @, &, $, # etc.

2. How do I Update my email Profile?


I) Go to email.gov.in

II) Click the “Menu” at the right top corner


III) Select “Update Profile”

IV) Enter Correct email ID (eg. xyz@prasarbharati.gov.in), password and given Captcha
(case sensitive)

V) Do the required changes in your profile

VI) Make sure that DISPLAY NAME must consist of Name, Designation & Section/Station

For eg. DISPLAY NAME of Shri T.P Singh ,ADE , IT Prasar Bharati Sectt. Will be T.P Singh ADE
IT PBS.

IT WILL HELPS OTHERS TO IDENTIFY YOUR EMAIL SO THAT EMAILS ARE SENT
TO RIGHT PERSON.
VII) Click “Update Profile”

VIII) A caption window “Profile Updated” will appear, you can now “Log Out”.

3) How Can I Create Folder in email?


User can create a new folder under any folder Ex: Inbox, Sent or under any other existing
folder.

I) Right click on a folder under which you want to create a new folder.

II) Click “New folder”.

III) Enter Name of the folder and select Color of the folder.

IV) Click “OK” to save the new folder.

4) How can I Share a Folder in email?


I) Right click on the folder you want to share. There is an option to share folder. Click on it
and a new window will open which will show “Share Properties”.

II) Tick on “Internal users or Groups” , Enter email id (You can enter single or multiple email
ids for sharing the same folder) and also Provide a Role to the sharing user.
Providing a Role
An internal user can have the following roles:
i. None-None
ii. Viewer-View : (Shared user only can view email which you have shared)
iii. Manager-View, Edit, Add, Remove: (Shared user can also share email available in
his mail box in the same folder )
iv. Admin- View, Edit, Add, Remove, Administrator: (Shared user will have all admin
rights for that folder whatever you have)

III) Click “Ok” to save the Sharing Properties.

IV) Once the folder is shared with the internal user ,the receiver can then accept or decline
the request from the email received informing sharing of folder.

V) If accepted by the receiver then he can change the color of the folder shared.

VI) After accepting the share request, the Shared Folder will appear in the dropdown list of
“Mail Folders ” of the shared user.

Now user can move all emails in shared folder, which he wants to share with
the other user user.

5) I am using name based email for all official communications but now I
have been transferred to new station. How can I share my old emails with my
successor?
I) Create a Folder and share it with your successor.

II) All concerned emails should be moved to the shared Folder.

III) The successor can further move these emails to his own inbox or any appropriate mail
folder.
6) I am Unable to Login to https://eoffice.prasarbharati.gov.in?
I) Please ensure that you have a name based email id in the prasarbharati.gov.in or other
gov.in domain because your login id of eOffice is same as your email id. Also confirm while
entering login id, it ends with prasarbharati.gov.in or other gov.in domain.

II) Password for logging in eOffice is same as of that your email id password.

III) For Ex: xyz@air.org.in will not work as login id of eOffice whereas
xyz@prasarbharati.gov.in will work as login id because Primary domain for eOffice is
“prasarbharati.gov.in”.

abc@gov.in and abc@nic.in will also work as login id of eOffice provided it is name based
email id.

IV) Any other domain like abc@gmail.com, abc@yahoo.com etc will not work.

V) Please make sure, do not miss “a” in “Bharati” i.e “Bharti” will not work (in
prasarbharati.gov.in domain).
