Guess what! I’ve eaten dog. And not only did I eat it, I ate it because I wanted to.

I ate
three courses of it. I enjoyed it. And I don’t care what you think. I was in Seoul, South
Korea. I was sent there to write a magazine article before the start of the 2002 World
Cup. Koreans are famous in the West for eating dog but many Westerners were
unhappy about this. So as a journalist, I had to go and write about dog-eating. And I
obviously had to try some.
My taxi driver nearly had an accident when I asked him to take me to the best dog
restaurant in town. Westerners don’t do that. The waiter at the restaurant looked
surprised too, but politely explained the menu to me.
At home, I am mostly a vegetarian. So I drank some beer before the food arrived.
I started eating slowly, but then I started to enjoy me food – the starter was a
wonderful dog soup, followed by dog slices, and a dog stew! Yum!
People at the tables next to me looked surprised that I was enjoying the doggy food. I
won’t ever eat dog again. But I don’t feel bad about it either!
