Lesson 1: Introduce Yourself

DIALOGUE
In this lesson, your tutor will help you go over this topic: Introduce yourself.First,
read the following dialogue out loud with your tutor, then switch roles and try
again.
Kevin introduces himself to Dorothy.

Kevin: Hi, my name is Kevin. I’m your neighbor from across the street.

Dorothy: Hi Kevin, my name is Dorothy. It’s good to meet you.

Kevin: I know that you’re new to the area, so I wanted to introduce


myself.

Dorothy: Thank you. I just moved here from LA for a new job. How long
have you been here?
Kevin: I’ve lived here for 2 years now. I work down the street, at the
university.

Dorothy: Are you a professor?

Kevin: No, I’m a lawyer. What do you do?

Dorothy: I’m a guidance counselor.

Kevin: Let me know if you need any help with your move.

Dorothy: Thanks so much. It’s nice to make a new friend!
