the values of a and b . With these values of a and b , factorise the given expression correctly. [3]
(b) Two mixtures contains milk and honey are in the ratio of 7 : 2 and 5 : 1. In what ratio these two
mixtures should be mixed so that the resulting mixture may contain milk and honey in the ratio 9 : 2 . [3]
(c) A company sold a computer to the realer at ₹ 18,000.The dealer sold it to the showroom owner at a
profit of 15% and the showroom owner sold it to the customer at a profit of 20%.If the rate of GST is
12.5%,find
(i)The GST paid by the company.
(ii)The GST paid by the dealer.
(iii) The GST paid by the Showroom owner.
(iv)The tax paid by the customer. [4]

(a) Find the value of K so that the sum of the roots of the quadratic equation ( K + 1 )x2 + 3Kx + 2 = 0 is equal to
the product of the roots. [3]
(b) A vessel is in the form of a inverted cone. Its height is 11cm and radius of its top which is open is 2.5cm. It is
filled with water up to the rim. When lead shots, each of which is a sphere of radius 0.25cm are dropped in
to the vessel, ⅖ of the water overflows. Find the number of lead shots dropped in to the vessel.

(c) In the given figure P is a point on AB such that AP : PB = 4 : 3, PQ ǁ AC .
(i) Calculate the ratio PQ : AC, giving reasons for your answer.
(ii) In Δ ARC , ∟ARC = 900 and in Δ PSQ, ∟PSQ = 900. Given
QS = 6cm, Calculate the length of AR . [4]
