SYPHILIS:
CAUSE AND PATHOGEN: Syphilis is a sexually transmitted infection (STI) caused by a type
of bacteria known as Treponema pallidum.

SYMPTOMS: The first sign of syphilis is a small sore,hair loss, muscle aches, a fever, a
sore throat,swollen lymph nodes.

PREVENTIONS: Condom use reduces the likelihood of transmission during sex.


Abstinence from intimate physical contact with an infected person.

AIDS:

CAUSE AND PATHOGENS:


A condition caused by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).

SYMPTOMS: recurrent fever, chronic swollen lymph glands, rapid weight loss, chronic fatigue,
anxiety and depression

PREVENTIONS: Avoid sharing needles, Consider male circumcision,Use condom .

HERPES SIMPLEX:
CAUSE AND PATHOGENS:

Herpes simplex is a viral infection caused by the herpes simplex virus.

SYMPTOMS: blistering sores (in the mouth or on the genitals) ,pain during urination (genital
herpes) ,swollen lymph nodes.
PREVENTIONS: Avoid direct physical contact with other people. Don’t share any items that can
pass the virus.Don’t participate in sexual activity during an outbreak.

GONORRHEA:

CAUSES AND PATHOGENS: Caused by the bacterium Neisseria gonorrhoeae.

SYMPTOMS: Painful urination, swelling in one testicle, Increased vaginal discharge, eye
pain,affected joints

PREVENTIONS: use of condoms, limiting sexual activities with an infected person.

TRICHOMONIASIS:

CAUSES AND PATHOGENS: Caused by the parasite Trichomonas vaginalis.

SYMPTOMS: foul-smelling vaginal dischargeGenital redness, burning, Irritation inside the penis,
Discharge from the penis

PREVENTIONS: abstain from sex, use condoms.
