Slide 1 - Hello, in this video I’m going to introduce you to my imaginary state.

It’s called
Smedland. In the next slides I’m going to explain about the details of the state and
government type.

Slide 2 - First of all I am going to introduce the four basic aspects of a state.

Slide 3 - Number one, territory. The total area is about four hundred-thousand square
kilometers. Or equal to the size of Sweden. It’s located in the northern Europe.

Slide 4-5 - The geography of the Smedland is mostly covered by high mountain ranges and
sometimes it is full of snow.

Slide 6 - Number 2, the population. The people of Smedland is 90% Caucasian people and
10% Mongolian people because of a large migration from the past.

Slide 7 - Number 3, the government.

Slide 8 - The government of Smedland is in charge of the public utilities and public facilities,
such as public education, hospital service, and public transportation.

Slide 9 - The government also takes part in war and international conflicts. In case it
happens.

Slide 10 - Number 4, sovereignty. In the next few slides I’m going to briefly explain about the
state history and how It established into an independent and gain it highest political power.

Slide 11 - The state was originally consisting of 5 tribes that came from the same origin.
Each tribe had their own king, who controlled everything in his states.

Slide 12-13 - Each tribe lived together closely because they shared their resources to the
others who were lacking.

Slide 14 - Some time after, there was an internal conflict between the five kings because of
the resources and causes the death of four king.

Slide 15-16 - The remaining king decided to combine all the five areas together as one
country and transformed the system of government. From back then, the country of
Smedland has ruled itself independently.

Slide 17 - For the question about is the state a nation? I have to answer

Slide 18-19 - Yes, it is a nation. Obviously, the people of this state originally preserve their
culture and language from the past. Until now they have the same culture and lifestyle as
they herid from generation to generation.
Slide 20 - The next part I am going to explain about the type of government.

Slide 21 - The country is managed by Constitutional monarchy, as the king share the power
with the government. The government is selected from the citizens so it is known as
representative democracy.

Slide 22 - The system of democracy affects the citizen and the country both in good ways
and bad ways.
Slide 23 - For the benefits, first of all there are plenty of freedom for everyone to express
their opinion and they can take part in the governing equally. Also, there is more fairness
among the candidates and the citizens.

Slide 24 - For the disadvantage, there would still be a lot of people who would ignore the
election, the time and money spent is quite a big deal too.

Slide 25 - Let’s have a look on some scenarios that reflect on the ideas of government in
various ways

Slide 26-34 - For the first scenario we have Thomas, he was born in a poor family. Although,
he is learning in a public school and he doesn’t have to pay for anything at all. Thanks to the
government policy. One day he had an accident and he has to stay at the hospital for weeks.
Luckily, the hospital is also public that the expenses are affordable, unlike most other
countries.

Slide 35-41 - Next we have Morgan, she is a 30’s women whose business is struggling from
a law that has been used for a month ago. She owns a pasteurized milk company. The
government has banned her company on selling any more pasteurized milk in the country
after receiving a scientific report from the government lab that pasteurized milk can cause
osteoporosis in children. Therefore, she has no choice but to export the milk to other
countries or give up her business.

Slide 42-51 - Last but not least we have Emma, she is a political science teacher in a public
school. She is very interested in politics. That she takes part in every election since she
could. She was also a part of people who help withdraw corrupt politicians. And after she
became a teacher, she always motivates her students to never ignore the election when
they could vote for the president. As she always says “our country let every citizen be a part
of improving the country.”

Slide 52 - So before the end I would like to share my inspiration quote on making up this
state.
