Reflection on a formal meeting

On 15, 2015, I attended the first formal meeting of faculties regarding elective

geriatric and palliative course for third year BScN students. My preceptor Ms.Samina

Vertejee was present there as course coordinator and others course team faculties were also

present in the meeting. The meeting was on elective courses for BScN year III students, and

the time for course and others concerns issues regarding the course was discussed in the

meeting. I joined this meeting as beginner in the nursing education.

It enhanced my learning related to the nursing education in the following way. Firstly,

it gave me an opportunity how the course coordinator work with other team members.

Secondly, I came to know about the issues faced by faculties during conducting the elective

course and how they discuss it in a mutual meeting of faculties. Thirdly, I came to know

about how to divide the students for clinical and as well for theory classes in groups.Lastly, I

learned how a matter is discussed among faculties and year coordinator, and a mutual

decision is made for action.

In conclusion it was an informative meeting for me as a beginner teacher to know the

different aspect of teacher in nursing education.
