Definition
■ Now I am going to talk about the definitions of HIV.
■ According to Edge (1993) Aids is defined as ……..
■ Edge (1993) defines Aids as ……..
■ According to Edge (1993),
■ Aids is a cell mediated immunity defect that causes
immunodeficiency (Edge,1993)
■ There is another definition of AIDS
■ According to Microsoft Encarta Reference Library 2005,
AIDS is defined as “human viral disease that ravages the
immune system, undermining the body’s ability to defend
itself from infection and disease”.
■ Microsoft Encarta Reference Library 2007 defines AIDS as

■ From the two definitions, there is a key word, “Immunity”.
■ People with AIDS have no immunity system. So, they can
easily get “sick” or be infected by diseases.

HOW HIV INFECTION SPREADS ?

• Contacting with infected blood


• Having sexual intercourse with an infected person.
• Blood transmission
HOW HIV INFECTION SPREADS ?

• There are three ways how HIV spreads.


• Firstly, HIV spreads by contacting with infected blood. Let me
give you an example …….
• Secondly, HIV spreads by having sexual intercourse with an
infected person.
• Thirdly, Blood transmission is also the common way of how
HIV spreads. For example, the transmission from mother to
child.

• There are three ways/methods how to treat HIV......

Passive-Active

• HIV can be diagnosed by a blood test.


• Allergy can be treated by Anti histamin.
• A doctor can diagnoise HIV by a blood test.
• A doctor can treat allergies with anti-histamin.
• Anti histamin can be used to treat allergies
