About Avanti 

Avanti's  mission  is  to  develop  curriculum,  teaching  and  mentorship  practices  that  equip  students  for  financially 
secure  careers  and  instil  a  culture  of  responsibility  and  lifelong  learning.  In  the  longer  term  we  envision  school 
systems in India adopt this philosophy. 
At Avanti, we implement a unique pedagogy called “Peer Instruction“ a pedagogical framework developed by 
Prof. Eric Mazur at Harvard University that reduces teacher dependence and enables collaborative learning. 
Students consume lecture content in the form of recorded videos and reading material before attending class. In 
place of conventional lectures, classroom time is used to get students to work collaboratively on problem sets and 
clarify doubts by interacting with our program associates. Till date, we have helped over 400+ students go to 
college. Of these over 125 have secured admission to top tier colleges such as the Indian Institutes of Technology 
(IITs) and National Institutes of Technology (NITs). 
We currently work with 3000+ students in 3 public school systems across India and helping students from IXth to 
XIIth standard, focused on pursuing careers in science and engineering.

Our  major  donors  are  Tata  Trust,  Tata  Motors,  Warburg  Pincus  and  MacArthur  Foundation,  USA,Micheal  and 
Susan  Dell  Foundation, Tata Capitals and Infosys Foundation.. Our work in the past has been funded by the Draper 
Richards  Kaplan  Foundation,  Echoing  Greeen,  Rotary  Club  of  Madras  East,  Chennai  Municipal  Corporation,  and 
several individual donors.

Overview of the Role – Program Associate 


The  Program  Associate  is  the  backbone  of  Avanti’s  classroom  responsible  for  the  end-to-end  operations  for  one 
Jawahar  Navodaya  Vidyalaya  school  including  teaching,  inspiring,  training  and  motivating  students  towards 
achieving their learning goals. 
Job Responsibilities 
The role of a Program Associate involves the following tasks, functions and responsibilities: 
Classroom Teaching and Management 
•  Prepare  for  classroom  sessions  in  advance  and  teach  students  at  for  ~30  hours  a  week  using  Avanti’s  unique 
pedagogy  that  requires  students  to  view  recorded  videos,  discuss  conceptual  questions  with  peers  and  work 
collaboratively on problem sets/assignments 
• Explains concepts with clarity in creative & interesting way using real life examples. 
• Actively monitor students’ during lectures, their classwork and homework to ensure that they are on track to 
achieving their learning goals 
• Encourages self-discipline and punctuality in Avanti Classroom 
 
 
 
Mentoring, Career Guidance and Academic Support 
• Build strong relationships with students through one-on-one interaction sessions, helping students overcome their 
problems – both academic and personal – in the process 
• Regularly work with students to break down their academic workload into small achievable goals; Track their 
progress on these goals 
• Debrief with students regularly on their test scores and classroom performance (both CBSE board and Avanti); 
suggesting ideas for improvement 
• Enable students to chalk out their future career paths by providing them with information about different options 
available to them based on their strengths and interests 
Parent Engagement 
• Discuss student performance with their parents in person or over phone at least once a month. 
• Conduct Parent Teacher Meetings(PTMs) in schools at least once every 3 months and share aggregate and 
individual reports on student performance with parents 
Data Analysi​s 
• Consistently collect and upload feedback about classroom and test performance on Avanti’s online learning 
management system 
• Quarterly analyse students’ performance and track high/low performers; provide necessary support. 
• Generate insights on reasons for poor student performance; devise solutions to address those problems 
Additional Initiatives 
• Create a healthy learning culture by working on initiatives like (but not limited to) arranging expert guest 
sessions, organizing field trips/excursions, planning scientific debates in the classroom, etc. 
 
Looking for Candidates with  

• Full time degree in B.Sc./M.Sc./ B.E./B.Tech/M.Tech  


• Passion for teaching & working in education sector. Previous experience in teaching would be a plus.  
• Proficiency in Class XI & XII Physics/Chemistry/Maths  
• Belief that all students can learn and achieve their goals  
• Ability to connect with, inspire and motivate students  
• Strong interpersonal & communication skills  
 
 
Salary Details 
 
CTC- 2.5 L- 4 L 
Food and Accommodation is Included. 
Location- JNV Bidar,Palghar, Shegaon and Wardha
