Jenderal Soedirman University
Nursing program prepares young gen-
eration to become excellent nurses who
are internationally accepted by provid-
ing an exceptional learning process
which integrates nursing and social sci-
ences. Nurse is a high required profes-
sion globally, and this will continue as
populations keeps increasing and a bet-
ter health care becomes every one’s
right.
The prospect professions in nursing
world would be practitioner, researcher,
educator, manager and health entrepre-
neur.
Jenderal Soedirman University (UNSOED) is
a state university in Indonesia, established
in 1963, with student body more than
23.000 students,. This university is located
in Purwokerto, Central Java. UNSOED
campus is surrounded by beautiful scenery
of mount Slamet and Serayu River,
creating a most pleasant and comfortable
environment for live and study.
Nursing Program
Bachelor nursing program is an un-
dergraduate program that provides
bachelor level education which is
inline with the university mission
to be a world-class university. This
program is open for all Indonesian
students. Teaching and learning is
conducted in both in Bahasa Indone-
sia and English, delivered by expe-
rienced lecturers graduated from
well known universities in Indonesia
and overseas. Besides active learn-
ing in class setting, students are
exposed to clinical situations and
community setting which give them
diverse and deep nursing experience.
Guest lecture from national and in-
ternational experts, will be held
regularly.
Addittional Experience
It is necessary for students to have ad-
ditional experience during this pro-
gram. Students are recommended to
join at least one of the following activi-
ties:
1. Student exchange: students study
overseas for one or two semester
and the credit earned is trans-
ferred
2. International academic exposure:
students spend 3 to 7 days to do
some academic activities including
attending classes in partner univer-
sities
3. Overseas International Events: stu-
dents participate in students event
such as international competition
and cultural exhibition
4. International community service
5. International Seminar: students
attending international seminar in
Indonesia or overseas, either be-
comes presenter or participant.

Nursing school is established in 2005
which has graduated more than 900
nursing students. Nursing school offers
undergraduate nursing program, and is
opening master program this year. For
many years our students have become
the top rank in the Indonesian Nursing
Qualification Exam. Among the locations
where our alumni have been employed
include national hospitals, nursing
schools, Primary Health Services, and
other health related settings.
