Course Outcomes:

ME409.01. To explain the fundamentals of gas dynamics, concept of Mach number, flow regimes, effect
of Mach number on compressibility, wave propagation, and methods for flow visualization &
measurements.
ME409.02. To utilize the basic fluid mechanics equations and thermodynamic relations to solve simple
compressible fluid flow problems.
ME409.03. To apply one-dimensional flow equations to isentropic flow processes through passages with
area change.
ME 409.04. To apply one dimensional flow equations to adiabatic flow through constant area duct with
fluid friction and heat transfer.
ME409.05. To apply the one dimensional flow equations to compressible flows encountered with
stationary normal and oblique shock waves.
