We need to start triage before people die

We have to have the upper hand

It is important to create a command

al_triage_code_tags_and_triage_term We need a leader to provide direction

inology/views.htm And an officer to set up transport

A treatment officer treats minor trauma

And most importantly, the triage crew

That's what we'll do Has good mental status and alert replies

He wants to get up, but too weak when tries

And when that is set Extra help is on the way I advise

Start triage time Yellow prize

You have just thirty, seconds, you're behind

Oh

Walking wounded go to green

Hopefully, they only, have minor woes Direct Pressure

But 'til next triage who really knows Re-positioning the Airway

The nearest patient looks in a doze We may raise the Extremities

They are not alert and it truly shows And all of this is our expertise

So red I chose

Oh

Let's move on

Here we have one who is not breathing

So let us manually open their airway

If they start breathing it will make my day

Red and away

But if they didn't

Start breathing, they earn black

There's nothing to do

If a pulse they lack

Breathing under thirty

Good skin signs, cap refill, under two seconds

The START flowchart is a quick way to learn the
system. As you move through the patient
assessment, sequentially evaluate the current status
for RESPIRATIONS, PERFUSION, and MENTAL
STATUS (RPM). You either assign the victim a START Triage
classification or you move to the next level of the Assess, Treat, (use bystanders)
flowchart.
