EILians present Technical Paper in

International Conference on Rehabilitation and Retrofitting of Structures (ICRRS-19)

BARC, ASTR, VJTI, DCSEM & ISSE jointly organised International Conference on Rehabilitation and
Retrofitting of Structures on June 24-25, 2019 at DAE Convention centre, Anushakti Nagar, Mumbai.
More than 300 delegates attended the event.

Mr Anurag Sinha (Sr. GM-Structural) was invited

as a keynote speaker for the event. He shared his
crucial experience in the field of retrofitting. He
delivered lecture on various problems arisen due
to poor quality of material, failure of
machineries, differential settlement, excessive
machine vibration, fire, explosion, harsh weather
condition and their retrofitting measures. His
lecture attracted huge round of applause from
the academicians, professionals and other
audience from engineering fraternity.

Keynote speech
Ms Papia Mandal (DGM – Structural) presented a
Technical Paper titled “Combating Increased Seismic
Demand in RC Frame Structure through Effect of Brick
Infill Walls” in the ICRRS-19 conference.

The paper emphasises on minimising the need for actual

modification work at site, while examining the repair
and retrofitting scheme by exploring buildings inherent
properties, brick in-fill in this case. The topic was very
well acknowledged and appreciated by the delegates
including specialists and experts.

This paper is co-authored by Mr Saptadip Sarkar, Mr
